Based on my post from five years ago, only once has a player won a WNBA MVP without being in the Top 6 for both Win Shares (WS) and Player Efficiency Rating (PER).

This season there are 4 players who met that criteria (minimum 500 MP):
A'ja Wilson - 1st WS and 1st PER
Naphessa Collier - 2nd WS and 2nd PER
Aliyah Boston - 4th WS and 6th PER
Alyssa Thomas - 5th WS and 3rd PER

Boston making the cut is kind of crazy. At first I thought you were trolling until I read your reasoning. I guess she falls prey to the same issues as AT where the stats are not eye poppingly out of this world yet she brings so many intangibles to the team.

With that said, my vote is with A'ja. A fourth MVP would put her in a category of her own and solidify her as the goat of all goats.

Personally, I think this decision should be made AFTER the championship is determined since it involves the two favorites to win it all. (AND Yeah, Boston is nowhere near the MVP discussion despite "4th WS and 6th PER."
