A moment I found humorous was when Lions ran the reverse with Bridgewater in at QB. Teddy actually ran interference for the WR - not quite a block, but got in the way to prevent a possible TFL - and after the WR was well on his way gaining positive yards, another Wash lineman just gave Bridgewater a shove out of principle.
The moment a qb crosses the LoS, he should be considered a runner. No special treatment. I don't remember if it was called, but Mahommes clearly slowed down and flopped out of bounds.

And that has nothing to do with the play I described. The ballcarrier was 10-15 yards upfield while Bridgewater was still behind the LoS. The LoS in this case is simply irrelevant as Bridgewater was simply standing there, having completed his part of the play seconds ago and yet the DL just decided to shove him anyway. There wasn't intent to harm, but I interpreted a definite "how 'bout you run some real plays, backup."

I was still on my Mahomes rant.

I know Mark Andrews dropped the ball but is Lamar Jackson overrated? Can’t win the big one? The only QBs he’s beaten in the playoffs so far are Ryan Tannehill, rookie CJ Stroud and 36 yr old Russ Wilson.

Andrews dropped the ball and fumbled another time. Lamar also threw a bad pick and simply dropped the ball on another fumble. Going into that late drive, my view was that when Lamar has to throw, he can't really beat you. Then he did, sort of. That's the one thing he hadn't really done. He's never been a 2 minute comeback with your arm kind of guy. So props to him for proving me wrong.

So maybe he'll still get them there. His playoff record is about the same as Peyton Manning's was at the same point of their careers. I just don't think he's as good as Allen or Mahomes, so he needs a really good team and home field advantage would help.

Baltimore had the #1 rushing offense and 3rd overall scoring offense. Their defense was #10. He got Derrick Henry this year and has a deep, formidable receiving corps with flowers, Bateman, Andrews and likely.

What else does he need around him???

The defense was very good late in the year, and horrid earlier in the year. So they lost several games. He needs a team that can go 15-2. Bateman is pretty mediocre. I don't know if he'll get there but I don't think he is the reason they haven't gotten there. The AFC is just very competitive. It is about to get worse with Cinci and Denver likely being very good next year. Chargers too. Herbert hasn't gotten them over the hump.

I think losing Flowers was underestimated. To that end, only running Derrick Henry 16 times is puzzling as well. Todd Monken may have lost a job opportunity or two this weekend.

Of course all the Lions' gadget play calls and not running Gibbs down Washington's throat didn't hurt Ben Johnson's prospects. It looks like he's about to be announced as the new Bears coach.

And the Jets supposedly are high on Aaron Glenn who got torched this weekend and now has question marks.

He didn't get torched. His D had major injuries then lost three starting DBs in the game. Including one on the 2nd play. He had no secondary so had to keep blitzing. Did you see Aiden Hutchinson out there? He's the best player on the whole team. He's a good coach.

The 2025 draft thread is not up yet, so I'll put this here, because it references Jayden Daniels.

Dart had some impressive numbers in this game and he's probably a Day 2 pick, but I hate when sports media hypes QB vs. QB. Ole Miss won the game vs. LSU but Dart did not "out-duel" Jayden Daniels. Daniels had more passing yards, more rushing yards, an equal amount of TDs, and was more efficient.

What I see are two defenses that could stop a parked car.
