2024-2025 Opening practice availability from Storrs Central

Geno:
"Qadence had a really great week."
"Jana plays like she's trying to make up for a year and a half all at once."

We all kinda knew we'd love Jana before this. But when she sank that 3 at First Night my heart just about burst.

Geno says Jana's like a bull in a china shop, that she wears out the practice players, and she loves playing through contact. She's gonna rack up a lot of fouls, at least early in the season. But I don't think it will matter because the girls will be inspired by her great heart, and Jana mixing it up in the paint is the first way they'll all see it. She's gonna be "the rallying post" for all of them. Paige is the assassin they'll rely on to end scoring droughts, disrupt the passing lanes, block shots by surprise, and generally to show them how to run away with games. But Jana is going to be "the rock." It's difficult to overestimate the value of a player like that. Geno says they've been missing someone like Jana for years.

I almost feel bad for Ice having to practice against her. Ouch!
Sounds like the second coming of Dolson.

I get your point. However, imagine the benefits of practicing every day against someone bigger, stronger and Hungary to make up lost time.

Practicing against Jana is another part of why I think ice will be a starter for the first game.

In the recesses of my mind I think, how great it would be if a couple of guys on the men’s team were to practice with Jana so she would have someone bigger, stronger to work against. How it would benefit her.

The way Connolly wrote it. I had a totally different interpretation.

See for yourself:

I finally watched these. Best points to me: Yana is healthy and looks good. Jana, Ice, and Sarah are all handling the ball and passing well. Three big playmakers as Geno said.

Paige and Geno both said KK and Ash have improved in important ways.
I just hope K.K. practiced her layups. She missed quite a few of them last year !

Yeah but I went back and watched 35 games.....everyone missed layup..believe me.
.

Looking forward to watching Jana play a physical brand of basketball down low. I'm betting she sends more than a few players on their ass.
Many Jana is the person that Yanna "bashed" her shoulder against, and found out that Jana is more of an "unmovable object" on defense...

Rapid healing for Yanna!!! is the object of prayer time.

Go Huskies!
