Okay, so now that 90% of the season is over, check out how the “experts” predicted the best teams:

AP: Kansas, Duke, Purdue, Michigan State, & Marquette

Fox Sports: Kansas, Duke, Purdue, Michigan State, & Marquette

ESPN/Dick Vitale: Kansas, Duke, Purdue, Michigan State, & UConn

Coaches Poll: Kansas, Purdue, Duke, Michigan State, & UConn

So, although some may think it’s close, I’d have to select Duke (as usual) as #1, Most Overrated.

Duke has some issues, but there's no doubt they belong in the tournament and they don't have 14 losses. Only one preseason top 5 team has that.

Andy Katz has FAU and Miami above UConn because they're returning players.

Miami imploded.

He even mentions Karaban, Clingan and Newton as returning, but doesn't seem to think they are of FAU and Miami caliber.

I made this in the pre-season. Computers had us 4, Vegas and humans 6. Computers had Purdue, Houston, UConn all in the top 4. Computers were lowest on Arkansas, Miami, Florida Atlantic, and Villanova. Highest on Illinois. Computers win again.

In the tournament? Sure.

In the top 5? NFW.

MSU was the most overrated BY FAR. A team that was ranked #4 in the preseason projects to be at about 27 or 28 wins heading into the tournament, but they finished at 19-14 and should not have even made the tournament. Of course they got in because they're one of the darlings of the NCAA and the committee had to do everything in their power keep the tournament streak alive.
