Way too early and going off no major injuries or transfers.

Based off Hurley's past habits, I'm going with this.

Cole
Gaffney
Jackson
Akok
Sanogo

I think to start the year it'll be Martin instead of Akok at the 4, still trying to work Akok back in.

But I wouldn't be surprised to see this lineup by January, and by February/March to see one of the freshman guards displace Cole or Gaffney.

I hope Diggins/Hawkins can show enough to warrant that. I like the idea of having an experienced guard (cole/gaffney) coming off the bench

also agree Martin will be in the starting lineup...Akok is a wildcard...I'm hoping Hurley just pulled the plug on him this year out of abundance of caution and this doesn't turn into a Diarra situation or something

Cole and Sanogo. That’s all I know. The rest needs to be people who can consistently put the ball in the hoop if we wanna be playing in late March again.

This going to be brick city usa. Hope we can get some good shooters during offseason

really dont understand the roster construction as it stands. we only have 2 decent 3 pt shooters in cole and hawk. even if akok is healthy he's not a good shooter so we need a genuine stretch 4 in the lineup alongside aj and sanogo. martin's play the last third of the season has him coming off the bench.

cole----digg
hawk---gaff
jackson-martin
transfer-akok
sanogo-johnson

bench-springs

not expecting anything more than depth pieces with the other 2 transfers

Hoping for

Gaffney
Hawkins
Jackson
Akok
Sanogo

by the end of season. Think Gaffney’s potential is higher than Cole’s. I did not like what I saw out of Martin this year to feel good about him as a starter.

Guessing we see this first game:

Cole
Jackson
Martin
Akok
Sanogo

Cole and Sanogo would have to carry the offense, but I expect some very very very ugly shooting nights

i agree those are our best 5 right now but yikes. martin was abysmal to end the season i hope hawkins can start from day 1 like bouk did.

I believe this will be the starting 5 in game one. Hawkins is absolutely special and if Bouk started early as a frosh i dont see why Hawkins cant do it.

Assuming no grads come back...

1) Cole, Diggins, (Transfer 1-3)
2) Gaffney, Hawkins, (Transfer 1-3)
3) Martin, Jackson (Transfer 1-3)
4) Akok, Johnson, Springs, (Transfer 4/5)
5) Sanogo, Johnson, Springs, (Transfer 4/5),

Transfers: 1 shooter and 1 upper class power forward or center

The team now.

4) Martin, Akok
3) Jackson, Adams
5) Sanogo, Springs/Johnson
2) Gaffney, Hawkins
1) Cole, Diggins

Ideally, I'd more starting lineup flexibility.

If Cole is starting next year, we are going to have the same problems as this year. He gets exposed against every high major team. Gaff has the goods to start. We need to look for a 5 star quality point guard to come in immediately.

Martin is a hard working player and a good rebounder, but is mentally soft, robotic in his movements, and low basketball IQ player.

We need to recruit ASAP a sniper to add to the roster who can shoot and defend. Jordan Hawkins needs to be as good as advertised.

PS: I do not want to hear about Year 4 of a rebuild next year.

I'm going to make a bold prediction that Gaff will win 6th Man of the Year in the near future.

You make finding a 5 star PG in the spring sound very easy

PG: Cole
SG: Gaffney
SF: Martin
PF: Akok
C: Sanogo

Jackson hasn’t shown any ability to start and get starter minutes. I really hope we find a great shooter and slot him into the SF category, because Martin just doesn’t have it.

Next year ain’t looking too good unless the freshman are really good and Akok plays really good.

Nate Oats and Alabama are doing it that's why he has been successful. Auburn and Tennessee are doing it no problem. Without it you cannot reach the next level without incredible talent at every other position. Calhoun won because he understood this and many other important principles to winning.

We cannot take the next step without a 5 star quality point guard. This is UCONN with our rich history and the Big East, finding a 5 star quality point guard should not be mission impossible.
