Fuller: UConn lands highly touted Canadian quarterback prospect

>>Senecal, who is rated by the www.canadafootballchat.com as the No. 1 Canadian quarterback in the Class of 2020, has been drawing rave reviews even with just two seasons as a starter.

“I’ve been watching college football for many years and it’s probably the best quarterback in the last 15 or 20 years,” University of Montreal head coach Danny Maciocia said in a 2018 story posted on the www.tvasports.ca site. “He is a young man who presents himself well and who has a whole future.”<<

What's not to like?
Connects with receivers, in stride, on long balls; throws out patterns right on the money to receivers right at the sideline (defense for that?); and seems very accurate even on his throws on rollouts, either left or right.
Who have we had lately that could hit receivers in stride on long throws?

Casey Cochran had a lot of the same qualities as this kid. Senecal is faster but he throws like Casey. Not a ton of velocity but great accuracy and composure. He may not have an NFL arm, but all I want is a good college QB who can win 7-8+ games in a season. Speed and accuracy is a great combo.

Not seeing a lot of arm strength, but he looks pretty good. Welcome!
He throws the ball plenty long enough so arm strength doesn't appear to be an issue; he just throws it softly without a ton of zip, and it appears that his passes are easy to catch.

You could have had the most knowledgeable QB guy in Canada (a coach for many years) say: "He's the best QB prospect from Canada in a long time." and you would piss on him.

Then. We all can be unimpressed because there is no Rivals, 247, HUDL or ESPN superlative nor stars.

If you take a QB in June, you are certainly impressed with him ... over many others. We might take 2 this year. However, the point is made: Edsall has done a thorough evaluation and is quite happy with the Commit. Including Arm Strength.

Did he ever score 111 points in a single game? Because we've already had one of those.
... and since Denham Brown scored a 111 point game.

There's been a Boatload of Talent go through CBB and then NBA from Canada. Let's see if we can form a list.

Toronto - btw - has grown massively in 20 years. Unrecognizable - except for a few US cities. And the sports complex ain't just hockey any longer.

PS: It would be nice if Senecal has a huge energy pull to grab some great OL & WR & DL kids too.
