Some powerhouses
Just in case you have any delusions as to how far is up, in the latest Massey ratings of all 500 NCAA teams down to Div 3:

Highest FBS Clemson #1
Highest FCS N Dakota St. #35
Highest Div #2 NW Missouri # 97
UConn #190
Highest Div #3 M Hardin-Baylor #191

So according to Massey UConn has the talent/skill level of the top Div #3 school.

If rankings equate to recruiting/talent (which it does in general) getting a Maine offer player or Army would be quite an improvement as the former is rated #145 and the latter #51.

I get ND St is solid, but there are 65 P5 teams. Nd st is better than almost half of them? Cmon these look a little ridiculous.

Was gonna say the top 10 D3 are not that far off. Really glorified FCS level teams masquerading as D3.

Hey, complain to Massey not me. If you think ND ST. is out of line early this year, check out last year when they were FCS champions at 15-0 and were rated #11 by Massey. 16 of the P5 teams are not in Massey's top 65 so that's half of the half (the bench mark of #65 is Tulane) that ND ST. would need to be better than in the P5 (guess P5 has some clunkers). Stanford in ranked right below ND ST., not so sure I'd be favoring Stanford by much over the FCS champ after I saw what UCF did to Stanford (the game wasn't as close as the final score).

More importantly to me as a problem with Massey, I think UConn should be no lower than #189.
