No, I dont think so.

Maybe they see him as part of a plan to add a new dimension. To design around a three man DL with a fourth DL that is a bit of an LB/DE hybrid that plays rover. A guy they shift around to look for mismatches and create confusion. Some one with burst off the snap and enough tenacity to disrupt.
