TCU will host Cincinnati.

TCU just played a tremendous game to beat Arkansas. They played from behind for most of the game, and then they held Arkansas scoreless for about a 3-minute stretch late in 4Q to surge ahead.

Amy Okonkwo had a career-high 36 points, which more than compensated for the off night from Jordan Moore, who sat much of the game with foul trouble. Okonkwo was 12-13 from the FT line and her free throws down the stretch were crucial.

Huh. I thought Arkansas was kind of a team of destiny that was on a roll and was going to just keep winning games. TCU had other ideas.

Pepperdine overcame an early double digit deficit to tie the game down the stretch, but Wyoming escapes with a 1 point win. Arizona up 10 at halftime. McDonald struggling shooting but Reese is picking up the slack.

The final college game of one of the best players no one knew about: Pepperdine's Yasmine Robinson-Bacote, who had 26 points in the loss. She was the WCC player of the year.

Robinson-Bacote is making waves in California

Idaho had sliced the lead down to 2, but now Arizona is up 16.

Interesting stat line for McDonald--only 1-9 on 3's. She doesn't take that many behind the arc normally. But 6-8 inside the arc and also 9 assists.

Sounds like next game will be at Wyoming
Apparently it'll be at Arizona. Adia Barnes just asked the crowd to show up in strength; she's asking for 7000.

The remaining six Sweet 16 games are tonight.

Thank you for the link. At the last minute, the wife felt poorly and we didn't make the game. Watched on my computer. Getting our tickets for the next game, and hope to make it - if AZ hosts after that we will be out of town unfortunately (convention in Las Vegas). Bear Down.

Aari McDonald ran blind into a screen in 4Q and got laid out flat. She did return to the game for the final few minutes, but had a swollen lip to show for it:

A really disastrous 4Q for Ohio. They led by 8 after 3Q and then were outscored 20-9 thereafter, including a scoreless patch that lasted more than 3 minutes down the stretch.

Northwestern advances to the semifinals and will play the winner of JMU/Georgetown.

Cincinnati actually played really well for roughly the middle third of the game. Played a great 2nd quarter and stormed ahead to take a 4-point lead midway through 3Q. They were playing aggressively and up tempo, turning TCU over and scoring a lot in transition, and it was the best I'd seen them play all season. Unfortunately they flatlined after that, and were outscored 23-5 in the final 15 minutes.

But I tell ya, Michelle Clark-Heard has made me a believer. It's almost incredible how much that team improved from early in the season. A lot of us were rightly sore at the Cincy administration for firing Jamelle, but credit is owed to MCH for the direction she has them moving in.

Arizona asserted control right out of the gate, jumping out to an 11-0 lead and now up 26-12 midway through 2Q. McDonald has 12 points.

That's great attendance for UA. That's better than quite a few of the 1st/2nd round hosts for the NCAA Tourney.
Never forget, Tucson is a college town (city). And a basketball town (city). Of course, that would be men's basketball, but . . .

Great game, unfortunately, we can't make the next game (or final, if it comes to that) - convention in Las Vegas. Still, bought our seats and our friends that sit general admission will be happy to sit on the floor.

Very proud of Adia, who apparently can't stop smiling. And it was a good swag day - McDonald game me a hat in the pre-game handouts (first time I got something, although 2 years ago Griffey game my wife an autographed plastic ball. Post game, Adia gave my wife a visor. And the team always circles the arena after games giving high fives to the front row / court seat folks. Nice.

PS - then headed over to Hillenbrand (Softball) Stadium and watched the 3rd shut-out of the Arizona Normal School of Tempe during the 3 game series. Woo-hoo.
