AIC upset St Cloud? What the heck is up with SCSU? They fail with high seedings in the tournament repeatedly.

Minnesota State loses in the first round AGAIN. But at least to a much more formidable opponent in PC.

UMass is 20 minutes away from a trip to the Frozen Four, leading Notre Dame at the beginning of the third, 3-0.

Other Frozen Four spot decided today is between AIC and Denver.

Quinnipiac is up 2-0 against AZ State, halfway through the regional semifinal game.

AIC and Denver scoreless midway through the 1st.

Conference mate Northeastern was destroyed by Cornell in the same regional as Providence/MN State. Cornell vs Providence for another Frozen Four slot tomorrow.

Minnesota State played very poorly, allowing 4 power play goals! Too bad for the Mavericks.

Upgraded on-campus facilities for the hockey team at UConn should bring an uptick in recruiting. Overall, the program is heading in the right direction. Some of the younger players look like they have the chance to be pretty good. It takes time to build a program.

Quinnipiac vs Minnesota-Duluth in Allentown tomorrow for another Frozen Four slot. Am tempted for a road trip.

So far in the Frozen Four, UMass and Denver. Shaping up to be a great postseason. Unless you're SCSU or WCHA fans. Or Northeastern fans.

Didn't take Arizona State long. Just saying. Arizona State. Playing in an off-campus rink that seats less than 1000.

Their star defenseman took a ridiculous 5 minute major in the 3rd and destroyed his teams chances.

I always thought of Maverick’s as horses. Have I been wrong all these years?

I always thought of Maverick's as James Garner and Jack Kelly, and later on in a musical sense as Raul Malo.

You guys made up for last year's showing in Bridgeport

Yep, playing great since the end of the 1st yesterday. Looks like it's going to be a great weekend for Hockey East.

UMass and Providence are in...watching QU and Minn Duluth now.

Bowling Green almost defeated UM-Duluth?!? Sucks that lower tier teams seem to get breaks less.

Remember when they used to say AHA teams didn’t deserve an automatic bid? Haven’t heard that line for a while.

Thesuccess of some of these new programs and formerly bad programs I think puts some pressure on Cav to produce soon. You get some time but eventually you need to have a solid team. Arizona St plays in Arizona for heaven sakes.

Quinnipiac down, 1-0, after 2. A Frozen Four with teams from CT, MA and RI would be cool. Hope QU comes through.

That's not happening. UMass vs Denver for one semifinal and Providence vs UMD in the other.

2 Hockey East teams and 2 NCHC teams. And we thought college hockey was over with the B1G dominating the Frozen Four last year.

Congrats Friar.
Always root for the HE come tourney time just like I'd always root for the BE teams back in the day.

Congratulations in advance on the UMass goalie dropping a dump-in between his legs to tie it up in advance of your national championship win.
LOL, They have a tough assignment with Duluth but this team seems to be playing well at the right time.

If they can put the puck in the net I think the Friars will be fine. UMass I think will struggle some

They seem to be able to score some ugly goals which is important this time of year.

Duluth defeated Providence in the first semifinal, 4-1, with the game winner scored halfway through the third period.

UMass and Denver tied at 1 in the other semifinal.

The inability to win a face off with a 5-3 doomed the Friars.

I would say that as much as the inability for Thompson to get a pass for what would turn into a gimme one timer. Even Buccigross and Melrose pointed it out after the save. This was a really good game until Leaman pulled the goalie to make some things happen and MD blew it open. I will say this...it was nice to be able to turn a really good hockey game on at 5 pm on a weekday that wasn't a replay of last night's NHL game. PC shouldn't hang their heads...they played well and had a good run in the post season...actually from December on.
