>>The Hockey East Association today announced the 2019-20 Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team and six other season-long awards as voted by the league's 11 head coaches.

The 2019-20 Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team consists of seven players and includes two unanimous selections from Boston College's freshman class in goaltender Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.) and forward Alex Newhook (St. John's, Newfoundland.) The group is rounded out by defensemen Declan Carlile (Hartland, Mich./Merrimack) and Zac Jones (Glen Allen, Va./Massachusetts) and three other forwards, including Matt Boldy (Millis, Mass./Boston College), Vladislav Firstov (Yaroslavl, Russia/UConn), and Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y./Boston University.)

Also recognized is a pair of defensive awards, as UConn senior Wyatt Newpower (Hugo, Minn.) has been named the '47 Best Defensive Defenseman and Boston University senior Patrick Curry (Schaumburg, Ill.) was voted as the Gladiator Custom Mouthguards Best Defensive Forward.

Two statistical awards have been formally announced, including the league's top scorer in Providence sophomore Jack Dugan (Rochester, N.Y./7g, 28a, 35p), who also led the nation with 42 assists and 52 points, and Hockey East Three Stars champion in Massachusetts sophomore forward John Leonard (Amherst, Mass.), who led the country with 27 goals.

Hockey East's two sportsmanship awards have been bestowed upon UConn senior forward Benjamin Freeman (Falmouth, Maine), who will be presented with the Len Ceglarski Sportsmanship Award, given by the league to one player who has consistently demonstrated superior conduct and sportsmanship on the ice, and his team, the UConn Huskies. The Huskies will be acknowledged with the Charlie Holt Team Sportsmanship Award for accruing the fewest penalty minutes in Hockey East games.<<

Great news for the kids and the team. BC has a lot of young talent huh? Geezus.

I'm still numb to the ending of this hockey season. It has to be devastating to the seniors, especially the way the postseason was possibly shaping up. I really felt we had a decent chance to beat Maine and make it to TD Garden on a Friday night against BC or whomever.

Outstanding accomplishment, was contemplating who the best defenseman is for the Cavanaugh era, I think Wyatt is right there, for at lease for one season, career not so sure, maybe Gendron, Pratt, Drake, Austin, ?
