2018 UConn Commit #19 Dylan Niedrowski (Reading PA)

Welcome Dylan.

I wonder if we just found our future center. You want a high IQ at center. BTW the Columbia coach (former Penn coach) is a great judge of talent (as is Edsall). Columbia is currently undefeated.

With all of the OL recruits coming in maybe the line recruit from New Haven will get a long look on Defense. We're short on DL.

Welcome Dylan!

Reading? That would be Donyell's hometown, I believe. Nice to see Edsall strengthening the PA/NJ/MD pipeline. Good size for a young pup.

MD is Randy’s Dream State. PA is his home state.

If he's a Murphy referral I'm good. Love the PA connection. Lots of tough ballers and good kids from there. Welcome to UConn Dylan.

Did he ever give that kid his helmet back? Jeeze Dylan!!!

I wonder if any of these supposed o-lineman are being brought in to play d-line. If not, that's a desperate need considering we're already very thin there and are losing our entire starting front three. After the d-line, tight end and center are really the only needs left as it seems like all the incoming o-linemen are bigger than centers usually are. After that, it's just going for the best players available.

I didn't want to derail DN's Commitment thread but there is an article by Jim Fuller here that discusses the DL/OL recruiting/depth.

Now we need to recruit 4-6 DL’s.

Not with the 3-3-5.

UConn needs a couple of nose players and good size defensive ends. I am wondering if the kid from Cross can play nose at 350 lbs. I know his coach thinks so.

I would like two-three more defensive lineman in this class. Then speed for the other three scholarships

I guess I have to share my love for Clemson with UCONN now! Congratulations on your commitment D, I can't wait to watch you play as a Husky!

It's always fun to see normal-sized human beings standing next to giants... ;)

(EDIT: for full disclosure, I would be much closer to her height)

I think Noel Ofori-Nyada ends up on DL. I also think we go back to the 4-3 after next season.

Not sure how we do that after 5 years of recruiting for a 3-down scheme. The bodies just won't be there.

I think he will end up playing either Guard or Center, he is probably the most physical o-line commit i have seen so far. Plus he is enrolling early so he will be able contribute immediately after a redshirt season because of him getting the extra semester to bulk up and learn the playbook.
