Seriously - are we getting more coin from this game? Its this a conf - tv obligation? Otherwise the traditional cup cake game makes a ton more sense to me. Whose coaching UCF- Schiano?

I hope someday we can enter the season "ready to play" and not have to wait until halfway through to "utilize" the entire playbook.

I'd rather find out now rather than later if we are ready for FBS competition, and, if not, have quite a few games to work on weaknesses. Beating two FCS teams only means one thing........you're competitive on the FCS level.

We had to move the URI game because of something which opened up the first week. UCF must have had it open too. This isn’t too unusual. We played Navy the second week a couple years ago. At least when we look like Spartacus on opening night it’ll be vs a good team.

I am an optimist.......UConn is generally unprepared and struggles in the first “cupcake” game. Holy Cross, Maine, Towson, Villanova etc.

Starting out with a game that should be a loss will actually be a confidence builder,

UCF will be breaking in a new coach. Let's not "Knight" them just yet. I expect us to be competitive at the very least.

Fantastic. UCF coming in ranked off a NY6 bowl appearance with a new coach vs the (hopefully) hungry Huskies? I'll take that all day. Boise State could very well be ranked week 2. Great opportunity to build some hype around the program.

I don't understand the discussion. We don't pick the dates for conference games. The conference gives them to us. And the conference's decision is based largely on what the TV networks want.

Best time to get them is early. I like this set up. They mace entirely new staffs and schemes, although i doubt they roll out the 3-3-5
