2018 Schedule To Be Released Tuesday Feb 13

I assume the Umass game is at the Rent. When does it go to Gillette?

>>The announcement by UMass said that UConn and UMass will have a four-game series: in 2018 (Oct. 27, Rentschler Field), 2019 (Oct. 26, Gillette Stadium), 2020 (Sept. 3, the Rent) and 2021 (Oct. 2, Gillette).<<

I’m sure it’s not entirely accurate but why does it feel like we never have a flipping home game in the best weather month of the season?

Last year was like all beautiful October games ruined by our play, but still.

That UMass game won't be a cake walk... They've been playing a lot of top level teams over the past few years... getting smacked around pretty good. I think they're probably better prepared going forward to play us at the very least.

Seems like a rough schedule for a team trying to build attendance. Front-loaded which will impact the record and buzz and three late season home dates with marginal draws

I thought UMass stopped playing their games at Gillette.

The helmet is cropped out of the Tweet. Block C coming?

My only real problem with this is there really isn’t s “homestand” of any sort. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a schedule quite like it. Week 1 home, 2 away, 3 home...and 3 weeks on the road/bye during the prime time of the season. Things I like, closing the season with Temple. Not exactly a rivalry game but they and Cincy are about as close as we come. Now make it happen annually. This league needs something besides UCF-USF and the ConFlict. Temple is the closest league member. We have some history. Not Michigan Ohio State but it has some long term potential and ought to be our season ender every year.

I know none of us are thrilled about the AAC but it is a really good football conference. We’ve had multiple top 25 teams almost every year and ended the season with a top 10 in 2014, 2015 and 2017. Our league schedule is probably Tougher than it was in the Big East. Just not as well respected.

My delusion - end the year with a 5 game win streak. Going to require some surprise performances on defense from new blood and our qb and Oline play to take another step forward.

I like the AAC as our landing spot -- for now. Its the lack of money thing being outside the P5 that hurts. It could have a long term effect on the athletic department and the university if we remain a have-not. That is why I pine for us to get a realignment golden ticket. If there is some kind of shake out conference affiliation wise where we are on the same (or at least more competitive) financial level as the current P5, then I'm OK with the AAC. We are developing some rivalries already (Cincy) and I'd be OK with adding a few more regional rivals -- the Temple rivalry is developing, Navy could develop, adding Army would be cool, and a blood feud with UMass could be rekindled quickly. So for me, the AAC is not the problem. The lack of $$ is.

Why do we open with UCF on a Thursday night? If it were URI, I get it. But that’s one of our few “marquee” opponents.

Hard to see 6 wins there..........very hard.

What concerns me most is that we could get off to a very rough start given UCF, @ Boise, URI and @ Cuse. By that time the Cincy game could be crucial to have any hopes for a reasonable season.

Wasn't this the residual effect from the reshuffling UConn did to get the BCU & UMass series done?

We had Navy in week 2 in 2016 to fit BCU in for that November. Same reason.
