I agree with you. I can’t imagine that was the only thing said during that discussion, but I already said previously here that each player needed their own summer plan. Whaley and Wilson needed to lift heavy stuff, and tag team the buffet line. A lot. Etc

KO's problem is he probably used the 'get in the gym' line for everything. Shooting needs work? 'Get in the gym'. Need a better handle? 'Get in the gym'. Positioning? Strength? Footwork? 'Get in the gym'.

Jackson was soft out of high school. I said he looked unathletic when he committed and took some heat here. He needed to trim the baby fat and add a lot of muscle. Now that he is in shape, you'll be able to tell if he has the speed to compete at this level beyond just shooting the open 3. KO was definitely right about getting in shape. You can't tell what a guy can do when he is slowed by weight and lack of strength.

I won't be surprised if he scores 15-18ppg on mostly jumpers because he's 6'7", which will help him get his shot off. I doubt he'll be much of a dual threat like a great UConn level shooting guard needs to be. We'll see what conditioning has done for him. Regardless, I wish we still had him, he's a good player with a nice jumper.

Come on. The kid was really good for a freshman. Any decent coach would have come up with a plan to feature him in the offense.

He couldnt defend a dish towel.

That was effort. Some of that is on coaching sure, you have to push the right buttons in kids. But some of that is also on the kid.

Jackson was a far better defender than Enoch. Poor SE was a truly terrible defender.

Well that is true. But being better than someone who face guards with his butt is a pretty low bar.

Can someone tell me if he's skilled, he's just a physical monster who will bully kids under the rim, or both?

Will be interesting to see how those transfers end up. Jackson and Durham had the most upside.

Initial thoughts,

Too low: Nevada, Nova, Virginia Tech, Buffalo
Too high: Loyola-Chi, Purdue, Nebraska

I'm super high on Nevada this year. So much talent and so much depth.

* Martin twins back
* Caroline and Drew back
* They have five really good transfers. Trey Porter (6'10 230) is their starting center, Tre'Shawn Thurman (6'7 230) provides great front court depth, Nisre Zouzoua was a scoring machine guard for Bryant and Corey Henson and Jazz Johnson are multi-faceted combo guards.

Yes, these transfers came from inferior conferences, but if you combine their points-per-game of their last played season they combined for 77.7 ppg. That's impressive
* Jordan Brown

On my count, Nevada is 10 deep with a projected starting lineup of Caroline, Martin, Porter, Martin and Drew while Brown, Thurman, Zouzoua, Henson and Johnson are an excellent bench.

And they have a great coach to pair with that talent, too.

His vertical is much more impressive than his back to the basket game. He's more a face up and drive guy. He showed a semblance of a jumper during Duke's foreign tour.

Does this help us if he chooses a certain school??
Tshiebwe locks in commitment date for Oct. 21
If he chooses Illinois that would help us with Kofi, I think that is the only school in his top 4 that any of our targeted bigs are looking at. Looks like he will follow in the footsteps of Sagaba Konate and head to West Virginia though. He attends Kennedy Catholic (like Konate) and lives with the same host family as Konate. West Virginia has looked like the favorite all along but people around Illinois felt good about his OV there so it could help us.
