I've noticed a trend in tennis over the past 15 years or so that has college coaches asking for video of a given player. It looks like this is also true for other sports, including football.

I have a friend who saw this niche years ago, and now makes good money putting together a player video for whoever comes up with the money. He can make a mediocre tennis player look good with enough film to edit.

Back OT - is this really a thing now? Are coaches and scouts in major sports like fb and bb really making decision based on professionally produced/edited player video?

It is... it's huge business now. There is someone on the BY that actually was/is involved in a company that aggregates for coaches (similar to Hudl) I believe (can't remember who tho but now it will nag on me to remember who). I'm not convinced that offers are made purely on video w/o some vetting through high school coach but I'm quite positive that unsolicited videos open the door.
