2017-2018 UConn AAC Season Pairings

cue the board meltdown of not getting SMU home and home in 3...2...1...

Bummer we aren't getting the SMU home and home. But I guess it makes sense. With us not having home and homes with 4 league opponents, you have to figure that one of the better teams in the league is bound to be among those 4. Glad we are hosting SMU for our only meeting with them, as opposed to playing only at Moody.

College sports is in the money making business. I'm not sure how the NFL's flex scheduling has not trickled down to NCAA conferences. It is in the AAC's best interest to have the top 6 teams play each other twice.

Thought the same thing with the old Big East. Why not have G'Town/UConn/Nova/Cuse take the home+homes instead of us having to play DePaul/Rutgers twice?

I don´t mind the fact that Uconn plays smu once at home. Wish they could play houston twice instead of East Carolina, who they better beat twice by the way.

We are horrendous at Moody and SMU lost 3/5 best players from last year. I don't mind not playing them away and I don't think they'll be a top 25 team.

I know there are questions about WSU future being paired with us but damn does that make our conference/schedule look ALOT better for next season

Doesn't make any sense to not have UConn play SMU twice every season. I don't think we'll be that good, but from a TV standpoint at least that has a shot at ESPN2 as opposed to ECU on ESPNU/News or CBS SN twice.

I hope we play Wichita St, Cincy and SMU on Saturday. Really miss playing games on Saturday games. Hate Sunday night games we have been getting.
Yeah but on Saturday's we get stuck with those stupid 11am games that end up like 50-45 every time.

I'm fine with this schedule. There are only three teams that we would only want to play once (USF, Tulane, and ECU) for RPI purposes and two of them we do in fact only play once. Sure, I would swap playing ECU twice to play SMU a second time, but at least our home slate is mucho improved: Wichita St., SMU, Cincy, Memphis, Temple, UCF, Tulsa, USF, and ECU. Only the last two are true gimmies.

I'm happy we only have to play Tulane and USF once. I'd want to steer clear of two games/season against the doormat of the AAC.
