Need full court advance to win.
Which five players do you put on the floor? Who on today's actual 2015-16 team takes the last shot?
If you say Stewie, please explain how she gets free to receive a pass, and where she is when she does.
Will Notre Dame do a full-court press in that situation? Should they?
My guess is that Muffitt does NOT press, and puts all of her team's effort into denying Stewie from receiving a pass.
My five players would be Stewie, Morgan, Lou, Gabby, and Moriah. I would play Gabby instead of Kia for offense and for a possible offensive rebound and putback. Moriah would bring the ball into the front court and look first for Stewie at the high post. Finding two ND defenders draped on her, Moriah would hit Lou in the corner with a pass, and by that time Lou's 3-point shot would be accurate enough that ND would have to cover her. Morgan would start at the low post, and come out to a spot on either side about 13 feet from the basket. Lou would find her with an amazing pass. ND would not guard her tightly, because they respect her ability to drive past any of their defenders, so they would feel obliged to let her take a jump shot from there. Morgan, with nerves of steel, would swish the shot, putting UConn up by 1 with about 3 seconds left.
Muffitt would call timeout, advance to half court, and design a throw-in so that one of the Mabreys would get an open look. But Gabby would steal the pass and the buzzer would sound.
