Aresco was right today about Houston and the AAC. What a flipping joke for 2 teams they dominated to be way ahead of them. Anyone think Clemson wants to play Houston now?

Does Wisconsin make it if they win on Saturday? I think they need Washington to lose.

Just my opinion, but if Wisconsin/Penn State, Washington, Clemson, and Alabama (in no matter what) all win their conference championships I think that is the CFP field. Best case scenario for us, because I think that will lead to larger schools clamoring for an 8 team field. I've always felt that an 8 team field with each P5 champ getting an auto bid, the best G5 school/champion getting an auto bid, and two at large schools.

Probably not. They lost to Ohio St. who only has one loss.

Absolute garbage if they send Navy over WMU. Total and complete garbage.

Exactly.

Don't get me wrong; I think we have at least 3 better teams in our league than WMU (Navy, Temple, Houston) and possibly even 5 or 6 better teams (USF, Memphis, Tulsa). But if a team goes undefeated, how the frig can you not invite them?? It would be shameful...

FWIW the composite computer rankings have WMU ahead of all 6.

From 11 slots ahead of USF to 30 slots ahead of Memphis.

Yeah, that's nice and all, but I've seen WMU play. It would be tough to argue that they would win that game, and I'm guessing that Vegas would underdog them too.

Still, an undefeated team deserves to play...

Which game? They would def be favored over Tulsa & Memphis, probably over Temple and a pretty short dog against the other three.

They are better than you are giving them credit for.

I'm not saying they're no good. I'm saying they'd likely be a dog to four teams in our conference (and you think they'd be a dog to three of our teams). In other words, the majority of people would share the belief that they are not the best G5 team.

Still, having said that, they should absolutely be the chosen representative if they stay undefeated...

I haven't seen any WMU games but it's hard not to notice that their biggest win of the year was against Northwestern to start the season (by a point) - that same Northwestern team went on to lose to FCS Illinois State the following week. The old mantra "they haven't played anybody" would certainly apply to WMU given the general weakness of the MAC. No disrespect intended to PJ Fleck or what his team has accomplished but the current scheduling realities don't allow the boundaries of their upside to be proven outside of a few non-conference games early in the season.

From an AAC / UConn perspective, isn't it in our best interest to have Navy pass them (rightly or wrongly) and play a NY6 Bowl? The American has had a good year (both in results and in perception) and if it is able to get rewarded for that with a New Year's Bowl, it is certainly better for us. Unfortunately, college football is all about the haves and have nots and the AAC needs to push to have as much as it can get, including this NY6 Bowl game.

So let's see. Houston beat the #9 and number 13 both quite handily thank you very much but is ranked far below and Ohio State and Michigan might both be in thrvFinal Four yet neither is good enough to make the B10 championship. Eventually this mess will collapse of its own stupidity or expand to a real live tournament. I'm guessing ratings are on life support within 3-4 years.

Ratings for the championship game were off 25% last year and will probably be down another 10% this year. Nobody cares about the first round and playing it on New Years Eve guarantees it will be a disaster. If it is the same teams year after year and It certainly looks like at least 2 of last year's teams wii be back and maybe 3, it won't help. Replays of previous game if say Michigan were to sneak in need live up to the hype either. This whole mess looks like a worse and worse idea every year. It started out as a solution in search of a problem and went from there.
