2016 Field Hockey/Coaches' Poll/NCAA Tourney

The coaches field hockey preseason poll has UConn ranked third in the nation. In the process UConn received three first place votes. North Carolina and Syracuse are ranked ahead of the Huskies. As seems to be usually the case in field hockey, ACC teams are heavily represented in the poll, grabbing six of the top eight spots.

At this rate they'll be out of the top 10 soon enough, even being undefeated.

The rules every else live by do not apply to UNC sport programs. UNC Field Hockey lost to Michigan (#9) and unranked BC, which is 4-5 and still get more #1 votes than unranked UConn. They even get more votes than 1 loss ACC teams like Louisville, who only loss is to #3 Duke. Both Syracuse and Duke's single losses are to UNC.

Now, I have to go punch myself for supporting Louisville and Syracuse.
