I'm not sure I understand the "reopneing of her recruitment". Had she previously verbaled to someone? According to the articles, Washington, Texas Tech, OK State and Mizzou are interested as well as L'ville, and she was on UCONN's radar as well...

According to Brandon Clay she had verballed to Okla State. Don't know if Amber is the right guard, but I would like to see Geno sign another guard for 2016.

All indications are Geno was looking at Chou and Ionescu for another guard.........And don't forget he has Dangerfield verbal.

Correct but... in one of the articles linked by the OP, UCONN has shown interest in her and I forget - either CD or Shea has seen her play and said she has a game similar to Sue Bird's...

I love the W write up on her... other than the Ah ref thing that she has to lose - but why would she want to join Dangerfield at UConn?

PS. She looks like a young Sue B in the photo!

Realize that Geno has signed Crystal Dangerfield one of the Top Rated Guards for 2016. Just looking at the roster in 2016 and later and would like to see another.

Guards: Saniya Chong Senior
Kia Nurse Junior
Crystal Dangerfield Freshmen

Possible Guards: Gabby Williams Junior
Courtney Ekmark Junior
Napheesa Collier Sophomore

Just would like to see another ball handling guard for added depth. Really don't consider Courtney or Gabby as crunch time guards in a close game. Who knows if Amber is the right player. Just posted because Amber is rated in the Top 20 and IMHO Guard is a need.

Hmmm...If coaching staff comparing her to Sue Bird, that's quite a complement. UConn could be interested in her as a fallback if they don't get early verbal from Chou or Ionescu.
But I like the Sue Bird comparison.

Agree, we need another guard.

Do we know how interested Natalie Chou is in UConn or what potential we may have in getting Kysre Gondrezick? Haven't heard much talk about Chou lately in terms of UConn and I know Gondrezick has a close connection to Skylar Diggins so not sure if she is leaning towards Notre Dame. I think we really need another guard for the class of 2016.

What's the criteria for being the right guard? That she doesn't stink?:D

You seem to have forgotten that Katie Lou Samuelson is a guard. She may play some three in two-wing sets, but she is definitely not a post player. Courtney Ekmark is also "definitively" a guard. She was even playing point during late-game sets for the last two months of the season. Espinosa-Hunter is also a guard; how many do we really need? Geno loves double post sets, which rarely call for two wings; in that offense, he will never need more than four guards. My guess is that the next guard recruit will be in the class of 2018, unless one considers Walker to be a guard.

The Thread you are speaking of was based on a HoopGurlz Article circa may last year- before "The Real Danger" Verbal to UCONN.

I agree with the though that She would be redundant with Dangerfield, Same Size, Same Position, Same Class. We need Depth at the SG position in IMO. In 2016 class that would IIonescu or Chou or Gondrezick in that order.

Depth at the shooting guard position?! Katie Lou Samuelson is a shooting guard. Geno has been quoted as saying he views her as a guard.

Phil Jackson and Geno occasionally lapse into the the language of referring to the SF ( Sometimes called a Wing) as a Big Guard. Both KLS and The Pheenom are listed as wings. Can they play SG? There is a difference of opinions on this. I believe Sluconn says no for The Pheenom and has not addressed KLS playing SG. In the UCONN offense the SG guard is the secondardry ball handler and most importantly have to be able to defend quick PG and SG and wings like Jewell Loyd. That is not KLS IMO. So yes I think we need depth at the SG position behind Kia Nurse.

Your post is contradictory. You point out correctly that Geno's offense is two-guard oriented, rather than a point and two wings. In the same paragraph, however, you state that Geno lapses into the language of referring to the SF as a guard. Both statements can't be correct, unless one has watched "Fiddler on the Roof" way too many times. Geno is not Tevye.

P.S. (sometimes called a wing) was a very patronizing statement; there are others on this site who also know something about basketball.
