At risk of getting killed for the following comment, I think it says a lot that he chose UConn over Yale without a scholarship. I really do.

I know, I know..."we're competing against Yale?" and all that crap. But it still means a lot when you can beat out an Ivy League education. It means that people value the UConn education (which they should). And I know that Yale is 4 billion dollars per year, but I'm guessing they would have found a way to give him aid. A big decision by Dario, and in my opinion, the right one... :cool:

Heard ESPN's Rece Davis on the Packer show on Sirius College Channel 91 yesterday. Davis is tuned in to the Chris Clark situation as his son attend Avon Old Farms. Says the decision is between Michigan & UCLA. Davis will be on hand for the announcement on signing day covering the story for ESPNU.

Not to be a debbie downer, but it was reported that his SAT scores were not up to snuff and Yale was going to make him do a year of prep school before coming to Yale

So there may have been other factors besides purely academics

Highsmith should receive a UCONN offer... period... He was all everything the past 2 years in CT... Now has an offer at Army... Hope we offer him by tomorrow...
 
I'm impressed. I have not followed anything about recruiting this year but if quality is anything like the quantity, Diaco did a great job on his first full trip around the trail. Much better than in past years under prior leadership.

Well ... you want to compete in the Big Bad world of who has more offers and who did we win against. Some kids just collect offers ... til the Musical Chairs game stops. I sincerely think, given the flip from UAB (with lots of other interests) to talk about USF or Cincy, this might be a kid that would just keep going til tomorrow is over. That's the game - to some extent.

According to a source USF has flipped UConn commitment Kirk Livingstone.
The 6-foot4, 235-pound defensive end has been committed to UConn since December and is now expected to sign with the Bulls tomorrow.

He was kind of a bonus since he was a UAB commit in the first place.
