Ha ha. My thinking exactly. I hope his heart is set on Uconn. But you never know in the cut throat world of College Football Recruiting.Let's hope he is doing it for the experience of seeing the country, and not for additional options...![]()

Middletown's Dario R. Highsmith has committed to UConn, is an athlete and is coming as a preferred walk-on. Had offer from Yale. An athlete.

Couldn't blame him if that is the option he chooses.Hmmmm....

Just received a full scholarship offer from Army West Point
Said the same thing of the FB board. I agree 100% on what this says about how far the academic side of our University has come.At risk of getting killed for the following comment, I think it says a lot that he chose UConn over Yale without a scholarship. I really do.
I know, I know..."we're competing against Yale?" and all that crap. But it still means a lot when you can beat out an Ivy League education. It means that people value the UConn education (which they should). And I know that Yale is 4 billion dollars per year, but I'm guessing they would have found a way to give him aid. A big decision by Dario, and in my opinion, the right one...![]()
Screw that! He can see those aprts of the country when he helps bring our Huskies into those towns and walk away with a W!Let's hope he is doing it for the experience of seeing the country, and not for additional options...![]()

Not to be a debbie downer, but it was reported that his SAT scores were not up to snuff and Yale was going to make him do a year of prep school before coming to Yale
So there may have been other factors besides purely academics
