He did congratulate JPD right after he tweeted it out so who knows, they are both from Maryland so maybe but at the very least they know each other on Twitter so go help reel him in JPD!

I have no problem with this and kind of think that UConn backed off a bit on recruiting a RB. With Newsome, McCallester, and Johnson in last year's class and Mariner being a RS freshman Uconn is fine at RB. Much bigger needs to fill w/ remaining commits.

the combination of Garland, Robinson and JPD looks pretty darn awesome for the secondary. then there is Terry, could be WR or S as well. looks like UConn has a bright future at these positions. now lets load up on another DT and big bodies for the OL.

At DT, it would be fantastic to land Wilkins from Suffield Academy. I know its a long shot, but if Diaco and CO get off to a great start, I think he gives us a look.

From Will Richardson's twitter page (Pic of him in Uconn gear), all the hashtags #changethebrand #huskyboyz #uconnbound #gohuskies and with the fact he was pictured at 1st practice with Tyler Davis, JPD, Connor Freeborn, and John Robinson, can't we assume he is/was #13??????

I have no idea what is going on. Richardson says he's a commit but the UConn beat writers (Des and Silver) say the staff doesn't have a place for yet so he isn't. In addition, Des wrote an article about the visits yesterday and he seemingly ignored Richardson while acknowledging everyone else as UConn recruits. If Richardson really is a commit then he would #12 sliding Chris Lee to #13 and Pettus-Dixon to #14. With all the support that he is giving UConn, I just hope that he doesn't get embarressed...

We didn't. Not surprising. A few teams that did were Stanford, Notre Dame, Ohio State, BC. We've always had trouble landing that caliber of recruited kid. Non-BCS/P5 status makes it much, much more difficult. I can't imagine the amount of negative recruiting that will have to be overcome.
 
At least now I understand the fascination with the staff's recruitment of TE's in this class. I thought it was overkill, only to find we lost Thompson (I admit hearing it this w/e, it was a surpirse to me as I missed or overlooked any news on this) and moved Boland (why did we rush him in last year and pass on Fuchs?) back to DE.

probably not... Wishful thinking because this kid's on all the BIG BOYS list of offers...
would be nice to get a surprise and find that we're still in the running though... He could help catapult our program to the next level....

Rivals, ESPN and 24/7 have him as committed. Not sure why a comment from Dez trumps that, but other than here, we seem to have 14 commits.

I would say maybe academic issues, but Diaco and staff seem to do much more in-depth analysis before offering a player.

I hear ya but it wasn't just Des, it's been all the beat guys and there wasn't the now seemingly traditional "@UConnFootball" hint ~ new commit coming tweet that I saw or a Coach Corley "Mush" welcoming tweet.

Just seems a bit odd..

Well, like Medic said, the beat writers are saying he isn't committed and it is their job to write about UConn football. Rivals, ESPN, 24/7, and Scout don't have writers who write exclusively for UConn so they basically just go off of what they find on the internet and take these kids words to heart. For example, remember last year when HFD said on Twitter that Keith Benjamin was a UConn commit even he though he wasn't? Well I don't know about the others but I clearly remember Rivals putting him in their database as a UConn commit based simply on HFD's tweet.
