My view ...
Diaco has a good staff of solid recruiters. Different from the PP and HCRE era; but, all seem to bring stuff/experience to the table. New Jersey as the flavor of choice is obvious AND should have been expected. With Edsall, we were far more likely to gain a Central PA guy (Will Beatty or Danny Lansanah) ... and there is no reason we can't grow into that University that grabs that level of kid PLUS Ambrose was successful in Maryland. In his first year, we reached to familiar ground and relationships. (let's not count January 2014) With some time, we should expect concentric circles to get us better into PA, MD, VA (given Poindexter) and somehow MORE Florida. Yes, we seem to have not prioritized GA & I think that is a shame given our last 6 years. And Texas, despite playing three programs around there (4 if you count Tulane), just doesn't make a ton of sense to my way of thinking.
We never have heard a UConn Head Coach say that Quebec and Ontario are important to harvest; but, we repeatedly go grab a few. Seems more happenstance than a plan. Massachusetts and NH have yielded a good many solid players recently; I hope we build the relationships over time to get a good group from our nearby states.
Obvious? Tall and physiques that can be crafted. Remember when Edsall prioritized really really fast guys. I don't feel that here. And I am a BIG fan of the PWO program. No JUCO. And unlike the late staged January of last year, not too much focus on Prep in NE and NJ.
