The crappy part about the Agnew to SDSU thing is the kid knew they just recruited 2 HS QBs in the '14 class along with a JUCO QB (per the rivals article)...I looked at their '14 commit list on rivals and they had 4 QBs that came in... 4.... in '13 the brought in 1 and in '12 the brought in 2.... He still committed there... WTF are we doing? We only have 3... can't under-recruit this position any longer... no more 3 scholly QBs and 2 or 3 walkons to help get thru practice...a QB that commits here going fwd can't afraid of competition...

to your question....(WTF are we doing) ..we are losing on the field, not developing our QB's to play at the next level and we are more than 1500 miles from his home..not to mention for a while producing porous olines and therefore endangering our QB's health.....we can't force the kid to commit to us. He may have more playing time up here and earlier playing time but that doesn't equate to successful skill progression. I don't think the coaches are purposely under recruiting or devaluing the position they are just having an extremely difficult time gaining commits from D1 worthy QB's based upon a myriad of factors......

Don't look at the past commitments because players transfer and some switch positions. I checked the SD St. roster. For next year, SD St. only has 3 QBs on scholarship and a freshman walk-on. The 3 scholarship QBs will be a junior (transfer who sat out his year), a sophomore, and a RS-Fr. Agnew is the only committed QB for this year which means they will have 4 scholarship QBs next year. It looks like a decent opportunity for him. Also, it appears that SD St had been on him for much longer than UConn, but they only just offered.

With QB recruiting, it is unusual to get one this late in the recruiting cycle as the best ones typically commit in the spring. Remember, UConn was not planning to take another QB this year until Cochran got hurt, so they were very late to be able to find another good QB.

Shout out to kcc1442 and UconnJim for the adequate and calming responses. I'm just a little bothered by how we've seemed to handle things... You're right though, can't make a kid commit. I know we've tried to get higher caliber kids to commit, but you gotta wonder, what is it that we're NOT doing to get a big time QB or 2 to come in here compete and help take UCONN football to that next level? The facilities are here. We have a coach that has a vision. A little confused how kids can't get excited about this opportunity.

Let’s be honest, we all know that this Staff has to have some other decent QB’s in the pipeline that they are interested in, to add to the class of 2015. There is no way that a program in a DIV1 conference starts the season off with just 3 QB’s (1 true Junior, 1 rs-soph and 1 true freshman), just no way!! At this point, we just are not getting all of the possibilities coming through yet…

They offered the Parr (FL - FAU commit) kid yesterday - no one saw this coming? I'll ignore the why in the heck would a teenager select San Digo over Storrs question (everyone has nice facilities) and simply refer those folks to the weather channel. In fairness, we have had highly recruited local kids come in the last 2 years (CC and TB); before that we brought in Pal's love child and a 5 star recruit via transfer, among others. Our problem is not bringing them in - its developing them and keeping them. Changing HC/O coordinators/schemes annually does not help .

Thanks for all that work Dynasty. I kind of liked the last one Riley Wilson. Runs well for a big guy and played the option beautifully on D.

Hard not to like a guy named Arkevious also. He looks like he has some growing to do. Threw one of his passes about 65 yds.

Anybody know anything about this kid, Anthony Siciliano? I don't see him having an offer from anyone, but the list of recruiters involved with this kid seems pretty impressive. He's prepping up in Maine right now, so I'm wondering if there is any info around on him from some of our more knowledgeable recruiting posters.

Just an observation. Profile says Pro-Style quarterback. He doesn't seem to match the skill sets of Shirreffs and Davis. If the offense is moving in a different direction, it would appear he isn't really a fit. Just my opinion.

Not very necessary in 3-4. We need speed off edge from olb, not de.
