Great pick up for the Tar Heels. She had a good FIBA tourney this summer

Nope, she's '16. I really wasn't thinking of that when I posted. Just had to express my surprise that half the players seem to want to attend Duke. Guess I shouldn't be surprised anymore.
Duke is a great academic school. I imagine that parents may "influence' their kid in this direction.

Except Duke, none of those schools have won a national championship," Slocum said. "I want to be on a team that is the first to win it. I don't want to follow in anyone's footsteps."

Did I miss a year or something?

Another Destiny, Destiny Slocum (#4 HG, #5 PN) is down to four schools and one of them is Duke. Are we sure Krzyewski isn't doing the recruiting there?

Yeah. Beautiful campus. Great location. Great education. What ever are they thinking?

In addition... great BBQ... and great fans like myself to root them on

.-.
See, she could be going to that great educational school just in time.

I was talking about the good aspects of the school.

The recruiting ranking are fun, but they can't take into consideration each team's need. A school might have a great recruiting class on paper, but have too many competing for point guard with no bigs. Or have players that just don't mesh well.
There is Art as well as Science in recruiting - and of course in molding those recruits into a NC Team!

TN several years ago recruited 4 players, 6'2" and NO point guard! Who they eventually got from a J.C.!

Slocum has verballed to UW. I know this is a '15 thread but since people are talking about her here thought I might as well post.

Thanks, and pretty surprising to me. That's two big name recruits to go there in three years. Maybe they can start establishing something.

That makes more sense than Duke.... Two top tier scoring PG's and 2 WG's coming in 2015... and a top 10 combo guard verbal for 2017... then again... you can never have too many guards...

Stanford added another.
Shannon Coffee 6'5 P from Ohio. Consensus #165
Adds to #46 Sniezek and #223 Romano.

In the last 3 classes, Cardinal has
0 players in the top 10.
3 players ranked 11-25.
3 players ranked 26-100.
2 players ranked 101-150.
3 players ranked >150.

Does not seem like a road back to the final 4.

Didn't see the Italian player (forgot her name and probably couldn't spell it right if I did) listed among the top 2015 recruits on first post for this thread. Any update on her? My understanding is that she's a top 5 recruit. Is UConn on her radar?

Since we're all fans of UConn Women's Basketball, and of the women's game in general, all this conjecture about recruiting is understandable...all of us just want the season to get underway. But I always take these recruiting reports with a grain of salt because of the huge inconsistency with which they ultimately translate into meaningful on-court success. A few programs know how to develop great talent and the overwhelming majority clearly do not, which is very unfortunate for the health of the game and for overall fan appeal. In that regard, which head coach, among the top programs, do you fellow Boneyarders think does the most consistently disappointing job in transforming promising recruits into truly great college-level talent? Please don't vote for McCallie....that's too easy!

Rutgers gets another. 2015 Desiree Keeling 6-2 PF per Bret McCormick

She reminds me heavily of Monique Oliver, only she's a bit more raw. Has only been playing basketball for a couple years. But she's a rebounding machine. Also she adds needed post depth next year, if she can get her SATs score up.

Cecilia Zandalisini.
She's rated #4 by ESPN/Dan Olson, but no one else has rated her so not clear just how good she is.

I've heard Cal has been interested in her for a while. Wonder if they have the inside track.

I've never heard her mentioned in a UConn context.

Didn't one of the horde report that UCONN was done for 2015?
