>>In his football career, Terry amassed 49 receptions for 698 yards and seven touchdowns, adding 139 tackles and seven interceptions on defense. He was a first-team all-conference pick on defense his junior and senior seasons and was named NBC’s Defensive Player of the Year as a junior. “Marshe’ is the type of football player every coach wants on their team,” Greyhounds coach Jon Reising said. “He was the first one on the field and last one off every day. Marshe’ has excelled on the football field, whether it was a crucial block, an amazing catch or making a big play defensively. His unselfish play coincides with his demeanor off the field.
“Marshe’ is always willing to help the younger players with nuances of the game of football and help improve their abilities as athletes. I have had the unique privilege of knowing Marshe’ for the past five years, and during this time he has matured as a person and as a student. I was able to see Marshe’ become an intelligent young man who strives in every endeavor that he is a part of.”
Part of those endeavors are in the classroom, where Terry has compiled a 3.55 grade point average to go along with SAT scores of 1470. He is also a volunteer for Children’s Special Olympics and serves as a Student LIFE member in the Teen Peer Educator Program. Terry volunteered to feed the homeless and took part in Multicultural Day.
“Not only did he exhibit responsibility and a high level of respect in the classroom, but he demonstrated above average academic ability,” said Jillian Sciurca, Terry’s personal economics teacher. “Marshé is a student of great promise and has an excellent rapport with his peers, coaches and the faculty at Northern. There is not a time when Marshé is not seen in the hallway or on the field with his positive attitude and upbeat personality.”<<
