I don't ever gamble, so what happens if a team is O/U 3 wins and they win 3 games?

Is it just a push and everyone gets their money back besides whatever fees were paid to make the bet?

I can't imagine UConn only winning 2 games this season..

It's not a casino, it's just his take on the numbers so you can't actually bet it.

3 would be a push and you get your wager back.

If we don't make the over, then we have a pretty good sense of the future of this program, or lack thereof. I am not expecting miracles from Diaco, but I'd like to see some movement in the right direction. But as the years pass, my optimism turns into, "Well at least the tailgating's fun."

I think 3 is right around the number give or take a game. I'm not looking for miracles this year. What you want to see in 2015 is progress both on the field and on the sideline.

I don't follow..?

Army, USF, Nova, with one surprise? Not a total stretch.
You're jinxing it, and now we will only win 2 games (it's all your fault ;)). I'm just making a joke. I laughed when I read the initial post b/c I've made the "I can't imagine us losing to (insert school)" statement too many times in the past, only to be proven wrong by on the field results to make it again. Everytime (or at least it feels that way) someone posts "I can't imagine - insert statement that is bad for UCnn here - happening", that statement happens. Can't imagine worse QB'ng than Bones, enter JMac,....Can't imagine losing to an FCS, enter Towson.... "Can't imagine being passed over by the ACC agian, I'm sleeping the sleep of angels, enter UL to the ACC... Can't imagine only winning X games in a season with this schedule, enter 2013 and 2014 seasons.

I can see us winning only 2 games next season. I can also see us winning 6 games. I hope (and I believe) you are correct though.

I'd bet the over. Even if I lose the bet, I couldn't bet the under.
I did that last year. Money that would have been better spent paying for tickets...

Sadly I can easily see us going under. If we lose to Villanova I fully expect it. Unless we've made huge strides, I only see 2 toss up games on the schedule plus1 we should be favored in but might not be.

We didn't hire BD to win 3 games. If we don't win 3 games, it's fair to question the hire. We're not playing the Packers.

I agree. We were very bad. But 5-19 bad in this league? There is a lot about last season that I've chosen to bury in the back of my mind and/or write off as decisions made in a transition toss away season (which bugs me as a concept to have to accept on its own). If we are practicing, preparing as a program to actually compete and win this season, we need to be playing meaningful games in all 4 months of the season. Nothing less can be acceptable.

We managed 3 wins in 2013 with a short handed and dead man walking coaching staff and dysfunctional roster that we've been told over and over how broken everything was.

I can't think beyond Villanova. Don't lose at home to 1-AA Villanova to open the season. I get frustrated if I try to think beyond that. I'm frustrated again now. We will all have a much better idea of where we are as a program after that game.

You and Spackler can keep your eyes closed and wish away the reality of where this team is right now, but it doesn't wash away what's transpired the last 4 years. The roster is not built for a rebound year in 2015. It's just not. Talk to me in 2016 and if the results don't show in the win column I'll be leading the pack with torches and pitchforks.

Yes we were that bad. Villanova was a much better football team than us last year. I know you hate to hear that and may not admit it, but it's the absolute truth.

Not biting. Coaches coach and players play. Both sides of the equation cost us wins in winnable games last year. Can't have that anymore.

Although I'd still be disappointed with 3 wins, I'm coming more in line with you train of thought. I'd be happy, this team can sustain drives and get consistent production out of the run game. To me that would be a success.
