UT travels to Maples Pavilion to face Stanford on Dec. 19 in its lone 'true' non-conference road game of the season. After a break for the holidays, the Longhorns will host Connecticut (Dec. 29) before starting Big 12 Conference play. Texas will step out of league play on Jan. 30 to host Vanderbilt in the Big 12 / SEC Challenge.

Mack just announced for Texas. I keep forgetting that we'll be seeing Shaka Smart instead of Rick Barnes when we play them.

So we cross paths with mack and stone, two of KO's main targets for 2015... Texas also has the gibbs storyline. good stuff

Could play Texas twice too if we cross paths with them in Atlantis.

Did this just become official? As in was this not part of our OOC schedule for the upcoming season until today?

Makes me think we could open conference play a couple days later at SMU/Houston/Tulsa.

I was thinking the same thing and I hope so. One less trip half way across the country.

I really think the travel hurt us a lot last year, and if there is any way to minimize the effect all the better. Especially over a break. In 13-14, they went to Texas over winter break and played Houston and SMU. That was before Tulsa and Tulane joined and we had to make 4 trips in 14-15.

I think we all know the geniuses in the AAC offices will probably schedule us to play @ Cincy or @ Temple after the Texas game. It makes too much sense to schedule one of the southern teams right after for us...

Nothing against Texas, but id rather not play them in Atlantis since we already have them on the schedule anyway. With such a good field and our need to play a tough schedule, I want to see us play Syracuse, Gonzaga, or Michigan before we play Texas.

Man, I was hoping to go this game on a trip to Austin for the bachelor party but that's brutal timing.

Can we get a home and home with Kansas next time? Maybe even Duke or UNC?

Duke doesn't do H/H because they suck. We have potential matchups with UNC in 2016 and 2017, Maui and Nike Tournament. There were rumors that we had a series with Kansas scheduled a few years back, but that ended up being Florida instead. I think we see a H/H with Kansas by 2020.

Was fun to be able to go to the Stanford game this year, (and the UConn fans there were great) but it was a crappy result. Hoping in a future year they can do a home and home with Cal. :)

So I did some digging on the schedule board for D1 teams, and compiled the decent programs looking for home and homes. They were Oklahoma State, Oregon, BYU, VCU, Georgia Tech, LSU, and Baylor. Of course this site is not the end-all as far as scheduling interests go, but it would really interesting to get Baylor.
Their listing, "Need a HIGH MAJOR team to start a H/H series with us at home. We cannot start on the road. Available dates are Nov 30-Dec 4, Dec 6, Dec 13. Please call or text with interest."

Knowing what we know about our schedule so far, December 4th would work.
