#UConnFootball gets commitment from Tom Rodrick, 6-3, 220-pound LB/DE from Leicester, MA
------------------------------------------------------------
His first offer was from UMass

Info from back @ the end of June:

Leicester LB Tom Rodrick picked up another D1 offer, adding UConn to a list that already included UMass. Expect more to come.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Rodrick made 91 tackles and had a Central Mass-best 14 sacks for Leicester and made 24 tackles and two sacks in the playoffs. He also rushed for 410 yards as a fullback for Leicester.

Doherty's Yawin Smallwood, Grafton's Obi Melifonwu and now Leicester's Tom Rodrick. UConn is loading up on the local football talent.

>>At UConn, Rodrick will likely fit into a hybrid edge defensive player, playing mostly outside linebacker but potentially playing a five-technique defensive end on third downs. At Leicester, Rodrick rarely plays with his hand in the ground, but would like to improve on his pass rush technique before arriving in Storrs.

"As a defensive end I'd like to put on a couple more pounds, up to 250," he said. "I have a few [moves], rip and swim, stuff like that, but I need to work on my hammer a little bit better. That was something I really liked about Coach Pasqualoni, he's coached so many great defensive ends." <<

wow, after watching that 15 min video I really dont know where to play him; LB, FB or TE. lots of straight line speed and size.

Good looking player that can play a couple of spots on the defense and maybe the offense as well.

Welcome to UCONN Tom Rodrick

Welcome Tom. Looks very similar as a prospect to Jason Silva coming out of hs.

.-.
I hope he stays at OLB in a 4-3 scheme. His potential size and speed combination would make him scary on blitz packages.

I'm going to guess that since he said "defensive end" twice, that he is being recruited as a DE. Just a hunch
