Oh man... I can specifically remember a post party episode of the munchies where we ordered calzones delivered from DP dough and I INHALED mine faster than anybody this side of Joey Chestnut. That calzone had no chance.

To this point, he's only put on 7 pounds in two years (since LOI). Obviously that's not good enough to see the field, since he signed at 255. I'm not sure how recently the uconnhuskies.com weights were updated, but again, I'll be interested to see what he comes in at when August rolls around. And with the potential that the kid had, I don't see any reason to give up on him yet. We'll see what shakes out over the next couple of months...[/quote
Maybe you try Hemingway and Nwojeki at D-line if they can't bulk up. Watching the Xavier championship game Boyle reminded me of Dan O. Very happy he decided to become a Husky. Remember how we lost Dan O's redshirt and it would have been nice to have had him back after year 4 in the program. I see Boyle redshirting though I'm sure he wants to play this year. G Davis is someone I'm looking forward to becoming a dependable threat that makes other players better because the D has to plan to stop him. Who get's the slot? Who's the pass rusher opposite JJ. Kick returner? Can the O-line get our running game back on track. Is Joe Williams a threat that we can use?We need Hansson to stay eligible and be a player. Can Lee take over a safety spot freeing up Jones for CB? Can our QB run the ball on occasion to keep the D guessing? Can Coach Weist get the offense to function at a higher level? Spring game is just about 2 months away!

I had a similar thought about DLine. I'm wondering how easy it is to make the switch, though. Seems to be a completely different mindset from OL (although Knappe is switching back and forth, and I know we've done it in the past with previous players, i.e., Lawrence Green). It will be interesting to see how those two players shake out this year...

I don't know if they played D in high school but it is a switch they might like. Being lean at the D -end spot is a plus and they are 6'4" and 6'5" so it is a possibility they could have an impact like Whitten knocking down throws.

It's not like the coaches are trying to prevent the linemen from gaining weight. A mom of one of the players told me that for the big guys the coaches have them set an alarm for 2:00 in the morning so that they get up and eat. And then they continue to eat throughout the day. Some guys just don't put on weight all that easily, especially when they have class and other things to attend to.
