I think one of the admins has to do it... You can edit a post, but not the title of the thread...Sorry....2013-2014....not sure how to correct the title....
Tough first game back from exam with Duke on the road. They sometimes have a little rust coming off that break. All the west coast teams and there are 4 this year are on the east coast.
Good schedule but it is really unacceptable to not be playing Notre Dame. That should have been worked out somehow for the good of the game.
If UConn is a 1 seed like expected and ND is around a 2 or 3 than I would fully expect to see them and have to beat them to get to the Final Four out of our region next year.
There has been considerable angst about UConn now being in the American Athletic Conference because of the diminished quality of opposing conference member teams. No more Notre Dame, DePaul, Villanova, St. John's, etc.
It is what it is, but (and my focus is solely on women's basketball) I find a silver lining of sorts in next season's schedule. The bright spot for wcbb is that UConn will set attendance records all over America as fans (including thousands of youthful players and their families and coaches, plus many curious people who want to witness this UConn juggernaut) in many municipalities and a few campuses flock to their nearby arena.
The OOC schedule includes visits to NYC (a Sunday game at MSG), Springfield (Sunday vs. OSU), Duke, Maryland, Penn State (another Sunday game), and Baylor. Once conference play starts, UConn will return to Rutgers, Louisville, Cincinnati and USF (Tampa), where they will surely draw well. They will also visit (often for the first time) Dallas (SMU), UCF (Orlando), Temple (Philly), Memphis, and Houston. The Sunday games are made to order for ESPN, possibly CBS.
Many attendance records will be broken, despite frequent increases in ticket prices, when "UConn comes to town!," so to speak. Geno and some players will be in constant demand for local TV interviews. Stewie and Stef and Kaleena and their teammates will deliver as advertised.
Then the inaugural AAC tournament at Mohegan, followed by the road to Nashville. UConn will be The Main Attraction and wcbb will benefit.
. UConn does not back out of commitments.
You deleted the rest of your response or the mod did.Maybe they should.

But even your remaining response is curious. You would be ok with backing out of a game that has been agreed upon?
Now THAT is unacceptable.

That's a wonderful life lesson for young women to learn. Be opportunistic and turn your back on commitments. I hope you said that in jest because if you didn't and you live your life by that standard, well, that's pretty crappy!Maybe they should.
Schedule commitments were reportedly too far developed when things changed. In another year it may change.Good schedule but it is really unacceptable to not be playing Notre Dame. That should have been worked out somehow for the good of the game.

Yep, Skylar was 7-8 in those games. I believe she started 0-6 and finished with a loss. She was 7-1 in between. That's a ridiculously impressive record. Six of the seven games were very close, but ND grabbed the win each time. I choose to focus on the last one, the one I personally witnessed.Skylar pointed out that UConn and ND played about 15 games while she was there--too many! I'd rather see the Huskies play the LVs again sooner than the Irish.

When has Duke and tough been used in the same sentence in relation to UConn since 2006?
