Some thoughts...
- First off, it's great to see that Big East logo on the XL/Gampel floors. Can't wait for it to return.
- Shabazz was so fun to watch during this season especially during overtime. 7 OTs, 45 min, 55 pt (12/21 from the field [.571], 10/16 from three [.625], 21/24 on FTs [.875]).
- Boatright was a great #2 on offense - became the 14th UConn sophomore in Big East era with at least 450 points (joined Corny Thompson, Mike McKay, Chris Smith, Donyell Marshall, Ray Allen, Rip Hamilton, Khalid El-Amin, Caron Butler, Emeka Okafor, Ben Gordon, Rudy Gay, Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb) - but I don't think we knew what kind of defensive killer we had yet.
- DeAndre Daniels was inconsistent this year, but when he was on, he was almost unstoppable. He finished the season on a tear - last 4 games he averaged 21.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.3 blocks.
- We saw flashes of what Omar Calhoun could have been had injuries not derailed his career. That Georgetown shot man!
