With last night's XL Center sell out of 15,684, this years UConn attendance sits at 12,854 and with Sunday's sold out game of 10,299, our season average will end up being 12,671.

The 12,671 will be the 4th highest in program history (behind 2004-13,435; 2003-12,859; 2005-12,826). This is 20-year high and continues to add to the coffers for the UConn revenue stream. For context, we averaged 11,307 last year.

Kudos to all the fans who choose to go (and can go) to the games. Two games this year stick out to me:
1. Sunday, Feb 2 against a pathetic Butler team saw 15,684 go to the XL Center
2. Wednesday, Jan 8 against an even more pathetic Xavier team saw 13,529 fans attend a game in Hartford.

It's one thing for fans to turn out in droves vs. marquee games like SoCal, ND or even a league key matchup like Creighton. It is a whole other level of fandom when people show up to watch a drubbing of two hapless teams. To me, this is partly driven by Paige Bueckers who has to lead the nation in jersey sales and the fact UConn is still relevant in Geno and CDs 40th year.

Our 12,671 ranks 3rd nationally behind SC 16,659 and Iowa's 14,998.

Congratulations on another phenomenal fan attendance Year all you UConn Huskies.

For those who have not yet attended a game, I suggest you make forth an effort.

The announcers mentioned that the roof might blow off when Caroline entered the game last night. Maybe it WILL at Gampel Sunday and they can add an extra bowl above the first couple before they put a new roof on. I'm sure someone can get that done before November. :p

or they could end up like the Tampa Bay Rays and have to play their games at Central Connecticut State for a few years.....

Why is Tampa playing at central?:rolleyes:
Better weather!

There’s a reason our former BE opponent Miami chose “Hurricanes” as their team name!:)

I'm having this discussion with MSGRET in another thread. There's no way the XL was a sellout on Thursday. One upper end zone, the larger of the 2, was probably less than 50% full. The only way the XL could be sold out is if UConn "blocked" those seats, i.e. they were not available for sale, hence the "sellout" of something like a few hundred seats less than the maximum seating capacity.
