20 players in the 2016 NBA Draft who would be smart to return to college

Hamilton is not on the list. But Purvis and Brimah are. Not that it means much since there are 96 underclassmen who have entered the draft and there's probably at least 40-50 of them, instead of just 20, that would be better served returning to school.

Rodney Purvis | UConn | SG | Jr.

The Huskies will be more of a “downhill” team next season with Jalen Adams and freshman Alterique Gilbert pairing together in the backcourt and that would really benefit Purvis. The 6-5 pitbull is always better when he plays on a decline and could have his best college season yet if went back to Storrs.

Amida Brimah | UConn | C | Jr.

This 7-footer was a revelation when the Huskies won the national title in 2014, but he's struggled to turn a corner over the past two seasons. Brimah has battled injuries and also the ability to stay on the court for long stretches due to foul trouble. An elite rim protector, Brimah has never averaged less than 2.3 blocks during his college career. Post defense is a major work in progress for this Ghana native who always shows flashes of promise without the element of consistency. There's a much better chance of that happening next year at UConn than in the NBA or the D-League.

Yeah, not much point in telling him he should return to school when he can't.

Do you think Rodney has a better chance now that he's 6'5"
lol was taken by that a bit, too. Closer to 6'1 than 6'5. Talked to him this past weekend for a little.

Well he is atleast 6'4 in shoes, im 6'3.5 in shoes and he was taller than me when i saw him

There used to seem to be a unwritten minimum requirement that an underclassman (excluding the 5 star HS super talent) had to be on one of the AA teams. Later it seemed to change to an All Conference team.

Nowadays it seems that there is no requirement other than playing for a college team. I know its testing the waters (i.e. no agent) and to get feedback, but to this fan its kinda unsettling, since a team's future is uncertain during spring season.

I mean Briscoe's season was no different than Jalen's. Not passing judgement since the circumstances may warrant consideration. However I'm growing more and more fonder of the 4 year 'star' players like Shabazz, Boat, Valantine, Hield, Dunn and others regardless of the jersey they wear. It was a joy seeing Nova and their seniors hoist a trophy, it reminded me of old school college basketball.

Rather than going to the NBA, Brimah should join the football team that way Matt could be his strength coach.
Seriously, now that both football and basketball have their own houses I think basketball misses that interaction with football players in the weight room. That pushed guys.

Ok Stairman I am old fashion like Calhoun - I don't like to see our guys being tossed around like rag dolls. I plead guilty.

Probably should've prefaced by saying I have pretty bad judgement/perception when it comes to guessing heights. In an AAU game one time, we played a coach who was gigantic. Talked to him after the game and asked him how tall he was, he told me to guess, I believe I said something like 6'8. Told me he was 7'1. Guy turned out to be Chuck Everson - reserve center for the 85 Nova team.

You guys should sign up for the summer camp focusing on height estimation put on by the mauconn foundation for height estimation. It's held next to the Newell Big Man camp, I think.

There's a "Mau-surements 101" available soon!

I'll be stepping in for a guest one-day seminar on Hilton Units.

Agree about everything except Villanova winning it all...I hate those guys and their prissy head coach too. Just on general principals.
