Next year - make the tourney, get to at least the Sweet Sixteen.

2016/2017 - will be an experienced team with playmakers.

C Brimah, Sr
F Facey, Sr
SF DHam, Jr
SG Purvis, Sr
PG Adams, Soph

Throw in class of 2016 recruits and you have a team that will be in the hunt for a NC.

The only question: Does the Boneyard have enough patience to wait 2 years for another NC??

You can't see it now but it will be evident in March 2016.

The only 1 year plan team is Kentucky.

You have no idea what the team will look like in 2016. And one injury, or transfer, or early departure, or sensational freshman can change everything you think. Two years in the future doesn't exist in college basketball.

Is DHam good enough to jump to the NBA next year? I always expected that, but having him as a junior would be a "game changer".... As a fan, I hope he lasts that long

I'd sign up for that. Will it happen? Probably not, but thats what alcohol is for.

Yeah that lineup looks great on paper. Almost as great as our 2006-2007 lineup when we had

PG Marcus Williams
SG AJ Price
SF Rudy Gay
PF Charlie Villanueva
C Josh Boone

Oh wait...

I doubt DHAM will be around. So you need to find a substitute there. I guess you can put Sr. TSAM in that lineup. LOL!

That's the hope, but we'll be able to tell come next March how likely the scenario is for the following year.

If we come together like the 1998, 2002, 2003, 2005, or 2008 teams, garner a protected seed, and make the Sweet 16, then you can reasonably project a championship contender the following year. If we finish middle of the road in the AAC for the 3rd straight year and have to sweat it out on Selection Sunday, not a good chance we're going to rocket into Top 10 and be a legitimate contender in 2017.

Unreal. So coaches aren't supposed to recruit for the careers of their players, just the next year? Or redshirt someone who is hurt or needs a year to develop? What does that even mean (other than you want to be noticed for being less patient than anyone else).

That 1996-97 NIT team of:
G - Ricky Moore
G - Rashamel Jones
F - Richard Hamilton
F - Kevin Freeman
C - Jake Voskuhl

Man, they were awful that year. Couldn't make shots, offense completely out of sync, Jake was weak down low, Richard took bad shots and was out of control, Kevin couldn't box out.......

But that team really started playing well at the end of the season and the players got better. Unfortunately can't say the same for this team. Maybe having RB on the team was more a hindrance than a help long term for these players as far as their own player development. Of course not sure the team would of even made the NIT without RB.

Nope. After Kirk King was suspended for the second half of the year, team went kerplunk.

Said this in another thread about a month ago. If everyone stays and we recruit a rebounding big and a stud 2 guard to come off of the bench and Cassell and other bench players learn their role I think 2016-17 could be championship year.
