I think that is due to this being a late addition to the schedule.

BTW, what happened to Kenny Brooks coached teams, they seem unlike themselves this year and with a few transfers out last year, I wonder what's up...any thoughts, anyone?

Losing Baptiste did impact their inside game but I thought they upgraded with their guards. I could be wrong as I've only been able to see one game that was uploaded on YouTube.

They also lost 2 ACs during the off-season. One is now a HC somewhere and another is an AC at Stanford. Getting used to new coaches could have an impact on the position players.

Every year, here of late, Virginia Tech has been on the cusp of breaking through but just doesn't seem to get over the hump. They have some good personnel and have the potential to take down one of the top ACC teams. Question is: Which one will it be?

I will be watching this one. I'm curious to see the matchup in the middle. Kitley can be a beast.

ND played (and beat) Va. Tech earlier in the season in a game I watched. Not only do they miss Baptiste inside but (grad transfer) Lydia Rivers, who lead the team in rebounding last year. That left Kitley as the sole remaining member of their top three boarders. Rivers also add good weakside defense and doubled nicely in the lane.

Georgia Amoore was a great pickup. Quite candidly, I could see why Coach Brooks wasn't sweating Mabrey heading over to ND. She shoots more than 50% on three's and Sheppard and Cayla King are over 40 percent if memory holds. So, they're good there.

1-2 in the ACC, beating Pitt and losing to ND and FSU (at home), when Sammie Puisis went off on them from 3. This team seems inconsistent in their defensive intensity at times, but they need a win.
So, I think the Cards should win, but wouldn't be surprised to see a Va Tech upset.
