Well, DePaul is certainly rebuilding as well, having lost to graduation Stonewall and Campbell, who together shouldered a huge load for the Blue Demons last season, when they were set to host NCAA tournament games for the first time. DePaul also suffered a huge blow in the preseason when the Wisconsin transfer Courtney Fredrickson medically retired due to knee issues; she was expected to contribute greatly to their front court needs.

Credit I think @SCspur with being extremely high on Olivia Cochran.

Yes always was high on her! She always had the IT factor when I saw her play. I’m interested to see how she looks when she has to face bigger and talented posts such as Cunane, Kitley, Cardoso, and Baldwin but so far so good and I’m very impressed.

Hey triad. What is with the Duke men's coach K? Years ago when his team was struggling to win, he took a leave of absence and had someone else take over as interim coach for the rest of the season. Now, his Dukies have lost two home games and he cancels the rest of his non-conference games and complains that the NCAA should reassess the sport in wake of the virus. The Alabama coach called him out on this. He is a big cry baby.

I know the question is directed to Triad, however your comment about Coach K caught my attention because I'm kind of confused as to this reaction.

There have been other coaches who have made similar comments well before the season. Coach Geno is on record for wanting the season pushed out to January / February 2021. With the team of his roster, why wouldn't he want to start sooner and get things going? And Coach Geno continues to express his concerns as cases continue to climb.

It does look suspect that he brings it up now. There's no answer for the optics. Others on social media have pointed out that Coach K has suggested several changes to the upcoming season (e.g. all teams qualify for March Madness), so could it not be possible he has been thinking this for a while?

So why did he not cancel games before his team lost two at home? I know other coaches have questioned why games are being played. Players can get infected playing in conference games just as easily as non-conference games. He is not cancelling the conference games. He is a cry baby, as I said.

Totally agree. Cochran has largely flown under the radar so far despite some really solid production. I was surprised to see her in the starting lineup (I thought Dixon would nab it at the 5), but Walz clearly knows what he’s doing.

Imagine a player like Dixon though . Transferred to LV thinking she was the future C then to get benched by a freshmen along with hearing the NCAA allowing 1 time transfer penalty free ?

That's always the risk that you take when you sign up for a top program.

Dixon has improved a lot based on what I've seen so far this season. She is getting 15 minutes per game (Cochran is getting 19) and averaging 6.2 points and 5.8 rebounds while shooting 56% from the field. She is also second on the team (behind Balogun) with six blocked shots.
