The Lady Vols with a record of 29 wins and 10 losses won the championship beating Old Dominion.

There were some extenuating circumstances that year. Kelley Jolley was out for a lot of those losses. After she came back and got into the groove, they were a much better team. Also UCONN lost Shea Ralph in the first game in the NCAA's. Never really recovered from that. TN (with Jolley) beat undefeated UCONN (without Ralph) in the Elite 8.

Were Holdsclaw and Catchings on that team? If so the question should be how they lost 10 games. That would be like Moore and Stewart being on a team and losing Jefferson. A loss for sure but UConn fans would be jumping off cliffs if they lost 10.

Holdsclaw was a sophomore. Catchings was still at Duncanville High School.

Is that the year they lost 10 and won the tournament?
