This should be a good game.

Maryland is off to a red-hot start. Up 31-17 after 1Q, and shooting 62% so far. Kaila Charles already has 12 points, 2 assists and a steal.

MD leads 49-38 at the half. They are playing well and hitting shots (6 of 12 from the arc).

Iowa's lack of depth in the backcourt is really hurting them this game. Boy are they missing Tania Davis now.

Kathleen Doyle, after having a career scoring game against Michigan, is 0-7 in the first half -- but she does have 9 assists.
Megan Gustafson, who is tied with Natalie Butler for double-doubles this season (14), has 10 points and 7 boards at the half.

Hawkeyes were just overwhelmed, it appears.

Didn't watch the second half because I switched to the Notre Dame game. But it certainly appears that way.

Kaila Charles had a huge game: 24 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals.
So did freshman point guard Channise Lewis: 11 points, 8 assists, 5 steals.
Maryland forced 23 turnovers in all.

Gustafson and Doyle for Iowa did a lot of good things but didn't have enough help.

Meanwhile Tenn is having problems with the kind of team I thought they'd have issues with. A team that presses them, but plays a disciplined half court offense and converts on the many TO's Tenn gives them. Auburn 37-33 6:37 in the 3rd. On the other end they're forcing Tenn to play a half court offense which young teams have issues with.

Marquette leads DePaul 28-13 after one, and it’s as bad as it reads. DePaul looks like a team of non-scholarship players. Just dreadful.

55-55 3:26 in the 4th. If Auburn had a big or experience at the point this would be a no contest.

And Tenn takes a 61-57 lead because of inexperience at the point.

Vols will escape Auburn, leading by 5 with under a minute left...

And Tenn squeaks by a team that lost by 9 at home to Chattanooga. Every win is a good win. But wins show as much or more weaknesses that losses, and this Tenn team has some glaring ones. They don't rebound well, they don't shoot well from the perimeter, they have little half court offense, and the turn the ball over when pressed or not.

Westbrook was the difference down the finish. Two big 3's made.

And with her nine turnovers, she just barely missed a double-double.
