They BOTH could end up getting home games next week in the first round of the FCS tournament.
C’mon UConn fans, we want you at those games! We need your support!

Ivy League schools do not participate in FCS Playoffs. Season over after today.

"The Game" between Yale and Harvrad is their regular season, playoffs, and bowl game wrapped into one.

Ivy League teams have declined to participate in any post-season football (Bowls or Playoffs) games for decades.

Thanks for that clarification. I should have known that but did not. All the more reason to support Central next week!

Final from Pittsburgh ...

#18 CCSU - 43
Duquesne - 10

Central finishes the season 11-1 overall, undefeated in the NEC; they are now 17-2 vs. NEC opponents over the last 3 seasons.

The Blue Devils are in the playoffs for the 2nd time in 3 seasons. CCSU lost at New Hampshire 14-0, in 2017.

I remember watching that New Hampshire game, with the backup QB starting after the starter got suspended.. and then he got injured and they damn near pulled it off.

Kid shoulda never been suspended... dumb. Now he’s a Bengal, go figure. It’s a wonderful thing that’s happening in New Britain. Fingers are crossed for a home game and win at Arute.

Central travels to Albany in 1st round. Screwed out of a home game but a winnable game. They don't have far to go, so we will see what kind of support they bring.

Annoyed. Thought they would get a home game. Albany is 8-4 and ranked 25. CCSU is ranked 17 and 11-1.
Strength of schedule? Otherwise this makes no sense.
SOS only comes into play in the seeding of the Top 8... after that:

31.1.3.2.1 Criteria for Site Determination. The following criteria are to be used in the evaluation of sites for all competition in NCAA championships: (Revised: 11/1/01, 11/1/07 effective 8/1/08, 8/7/14, 10/4/17)
(a) Quality and availability of the facility and other necessary accommodations;
(b) Revenue potential (e.g., a financial guarantee or guideline that ensures fiscal responsibility and is appropriate for the particular event, as recommended by the governing sports committee and approved by the applicable sport oversight committee or the Competition Oversight Committee);
(c) Attendance history and potential;
(d) Geographical location; and
(e) Championships operating costs.

Albany has gorgeous facilities in comparison. But that has nothing to do with performance and giving it the higher ranked team. The rankings are pointless in FCS

... other than determining who gets the first round byes.

UNI is ranked 6th and didn’t get a bye in the top 8.

If they followed the top 25 rankings Albany wouldn’t even be in the tournament as they sit at 25 in the rankings, yet they get a home game over number 17 CCSU. Doesn’t make sense... that’s why I think it’s pointless

CCSU wearing a NEC patch and playing in what is a really sub-par FCS facility (Arute Field) isn't getting a home game.

The next NCAA home game CCSU gets in any sport will be its first. This program needs to invest and get into America East/CAA Football alongside of Albany and Stony Brook. Monmouth (another former NEC member) got a home playoff game this weekend too and its basketball program achieved a lot more respect in the MAAC.

Central doesn't have the strength of schedule or facilities to ever be anything other than a spoiler. Did it last weekend at Rutgers (WSocc) and last spring in Baseball regional at Arkansas vs. California.
