I do wonder if the change in coaches has some impact here. Purely speculation but it seems that she had more latitude in the past.

It's also a different group of players with several transfers joining the program. While it's a different sport, the Bills of the late 80s/early 90s were nicknamed the Bickering Bills. Things changed over time while the core that was initially bickering worked through things. No, it didn't help them win Superbowls but they definitely were a better team as a group.

Things could change as it gets closer to tournament time. Who knows?
