And therein lies the problem . . . they are allowed. I disagree with that premise. ND will experience difficulty in their non-football sports by being cut loose from the BE and having no conference affliation. That may actually force them to join a conference (in all sports) and while it probably won't be the Big East, they weren't gonna join anyway.

unfortunately you're just in denial of reality. i hate ND, and probably 80% of those that read this board hate ND, but they have a lot of fans and are therefore desireable to any bowl game. ND shouldn't have their cake and eat it too, just like George Clooney shouldn't be able to pick from a hundred supermodels that dont speak english to bang whenever he wants, but the reality is they do and there's nothing to be gained by bitching about it. all it does is flaunt your envy. also i hate to break it to you, but we need ND more than ND needs the Big East. if the BE kicked ND out tomorrow they'd have a dozen conferences willing to take their other sports, just like when Clooney's done with a chick there's dozens lined up to take her place

My prediction is ND and either Rutgirls or UConn.

Most Cuse fans are enjoying the exclusivity right now but long term I think we (Cuse) need another closeby rival. I prefer UConn for their excellence in athletics and reasonable fanbase but Rutgirls has a strategic edge in geography (outflanking the Big Whatever for the tri state). I figure the ACC waits until Notre Dame blinks.
