12UP Uconn Starting 5

He is on their all time bench.

ALL-TIME BENCH: Caron Butler, Clifford Robinson, Hasheem Thabeet, Kemba Walker

Well the writer indicates that Oak was the overall number 1 pick, he wasn't, so that should tell you how much knowledge he has. Still interesting to see what other people think

Anyone who does not have Donyell at the 4 obviously did not watch him.

PG. Kemba
SG Ray
Wing. Rip
PF Donyell
C Oak

Bench.
Guards. Smith, , Gordon, Bazz
Forwards. Butler, Villinuava, Freemen
Centers. Thabeet, Jake
This

Ray, Rip, Kemba and Okafor for certain as starters. Bazz and Ben as backup guards. Butler as swing man. Lots of debate for the final starter: Toby Kimble, Corny Thompson, Donyell. Cliff could be both backup center and power forward. Jake as center? Thabeet?
With Ray, Rip, Kemba, Donyell, Okafor you have five first team all Americans who you could make a solid argument that they were each the best player in college their final years. All were top ten draft picks. Donyell was 4th overall in his draft.

Bazz, Kemba, Ray, Rip, Okafor.

Bench - El-Amin, Gordon, Butler, Donyell, Cliff
Love bazz. All time great but he is not better than any of those guys on bench

After all the unreal players over the past 60+seasons its awfully hard to squeeze 10 of them in a best all-time - yeah maybe 5-8 roll off the tongue but when you sit back and think about those in the 60's and 70's who were really good it gets real tough
Thats what UConn mens basketball is all about

Okafor
Kemba
Ray
RIP
Caron
Off the bench: Shabazz, Gay, Gordon, Marshall, Cliff

That would be a sick NBA team, in fact.

Good God, the starting five is just not in question. You can describe your own criteria (best one year, best career combining length and quality, projection to NBA, whatever) and the Okafor, Donyell, Rip, Ray Kemba starting five is just not in question. There is not another valid opinion on that.

Beyond that there can be reasonable debates.

Yeah, with all due respect pre-Big East days don't count. The level of opposition/strength of schedule was so, so much less that you can't compare what any great player accomplished there with players from Corny on.

Is El-Amin chopped liver? UConn has him, Ben, Kemba, rip. Ray, Bazz. Holy crap that's a sick back court to choose from. I'd put them up against any teams historical back court group. Choose two, any two and you're right...well, as long as Ray Ray is one of em. Love me some Ray.
