They looked pretty bad for a veteran team.

Fortier led them to the Sweet 16 in her first year as HC in '15. Since then they have 1 Tourney win in 4 appearances. Not good.

20 TOs for GU. Townsed was 7-11, L. Wirth 5-5. Needed to get more shots up but couldn't hang onto the ball. WCC POY J. Wirth was subpar.

It did look like a tie up momentarily. Refs seem to vary greatly on how quick they are to blow the whistle in those situations.

Bottom line, GU didn't play well enough to win. Belmont left the door wide open for them. They refused to take advantage.
