12,500 tickets sold so far for UConn/Wichita St

UConn says it’s sold 12,500 tix for Wichita State game at XL tomorrow at noon

But nobody wants to watch these pitiful AAC games. That's why UConn has to join a watered down league with no football.

I've got no beef with you, weyou but I need a backstory for the unique font choice.

It pisses me off more than it should and that interferes with my well calibrated THC levels.

Bought 8 tickets for $42 from the official school site the other day. Great deal, can’t wait. A win would be huge. Last year’s Wichita State game was a fun one, save the Gilbert injury.

Half the posts in this thread are negative for literally no reason. AAC sucks, big east sucks, we're giving away tickets cheap, if you can breathe you get a ticket, wrong venue, etc etc.

There will be a short term bump when we go to the Faux Big East and everybody will be patting themselves on the back. But it will run its course in 2-3 years and we’ll be hearing about the attendance woes again. Remember when we led college hockey in attendance? Now we are 7th in Hockey East. Same thing.

Hockey is a tough sport to maintain fan interest in. Even if you are an NHL city.

Depends, I usually park near Bushnell and Union just because it’s easy on and off from me (live West of Hartford). Big lot usually 1/2 full 30mins b4 tip

We use the lot across Main Street from Dunkin Donuts Park. Drive to the back corner and it's a short walk to the back entrance of the XL Center.

Not if you win - which is the problem with the Whalers and UConn hockey here.

Between the Whale and the Huskies (Hockey East era), we've had 3 winning seasons in 26 combined years of hockey. Think about that. That's almost impossible to achieve. The market would love a good team. Just hasn't gotten one.

I was at both this game and Florida. Both were great crowds but Sids dunk and his 3 at the end of regulation trumped anything from the Florida game.

Why should it have been at Gamble? You would have shut out about 4000 or 5000 fans who were able to get into XL.

Gampel attendance shouldn't be compared to XL. With the exception of the Florida game XL has gotten the better draw this year. If Gampel got the same dates as XL the numbers would be 1000x better.
