Providence is playing a very good road game. Very good puck support. They also do a nice job of clogging up the passing lanes. Good Hockey East battle.

Not a good showing tonight.

Providence is a good team if they get their goalie situation figured out. Skilled, strong, and heavy.

UConn needs a 2nd line to step up that complements Richard-Muldowney-Whitcomb. Need the Blais-Dezainde-Shahan to become a 2nd scoring threat line.

Team is not a tournament team. I would not be surprised if we start to see Hendrickson start to get some more regular game time as the season goes on to prepare him for next season.

Hopefully, Muldowney does not miss too much time.

I do not understand why Cav began the season without a full roster of 26. I have heard him complain that the 26 man limit is too small yet he did not have 26 players on the roster this season. Now he is down 3 forwards (Dezainde, Muldowney, Odyniec) and does not have a full complement of 12 forwards available. Wish someone would ask him the reasoning behind having only a 25 player roster.

Looks like it could have been a concussion with about 15 minutes and change remaining in the 3rd period
 
Well disappointing not the result we wanted but they had chances to score on Providence. The refs didn't help that first penalty was bull our guy didn't even stick his leg out. And that goal they scored should've been waved off clearly Providence was offside. But allain salmake shouldn't shot it right into Providence player that caused the quick counter that led to the goal. Well I hope they learn from this loss and play better tomorrow and get the split. Also we need to stop passing the puck to other team at times!
 
On November 9 of last year our record was 5-5-1. We didn’t play our best game tonight, Providence had a lot to do with that. We had our opportunities but no puck luck. I didn’t like the way we lost the physical battle in the 3rd period.
Bounce back tomorrow night!
 
Where to begin.
Our passing quite frankly sucks. Too many passes not tape to tape or too finesse and it leads to a lot of missed opportunities- and good opportunities for the opposition.
Moose gives up two backhand goals from areas where you realy shouldnt be giving up backhand goals. But maybe the second one was just a great shot who knows.
As usual there is no home ice edge when it comes to officiating at Toscano. Thought the 3rd goal was as offsides and the last goal i was shocked when they called for a penalty shot but whatever.
Now to the worst part. Providence just bullied the hell out of us in the third period. Did what tbey wanted, when they wanted. And we just took it. And we let the kid who scored on the penalty shot basically mock the fans right near the uconn bench. Take down the kids nunber and cleanly deliver him harshly into the boards at some point over the final 10 minutes. Even when there is stuff goong on in front of moose it is Providence pushing US around and giving us the business.
What was a fairly even game aftet two periods turned into a disaster in the third on many fronts.

also, at what point does an official cut off a gripe session by the providence player after the first period? I mean i would think 60 seconds is enough but 2-3 minutes? Our team is already in the locker room and the ref is carefullynlistening to every complaint from the friars even after they had the lead and more PP than us. Just typical crap you see too much of
 
Finally watched the game (was watching hoops). Agree with all the criticisms.

But how can anyone defend the officiating in this league? Inconclusive evidence huh? Even the Providence bench was laughing at the video board.

Looks like Cav was giving it to them as he left the ice.

Absolutely terrible call. Hockey East officials hate us. The entire crowd saw it on the scoreboard. The reaction was overwhelming.

The guys get to lace them up again tonight Providence. Again,they just need to keep grinding. One thing about this team is they always work hard and battle. Providence is a very good team, so we will needs some puck luck tonight. It’s a long season, but I am confident, and I like UConn’s chances, just stay calm and even keeled..
.Should be a fun day of UConn sports. Football at 3:30 and Hockey at 7:00.

Yep Sawyer saw the replay and they showed him lean his head up to the sky as if to say damn i lost my goal.
Dont worry the linesmen had your back.
Also incredibly weak penalty calls on most of our penalties- one was definitely valid but the majority were penalty calls where youre really hunting calls.
Regardless that doesnt excuse our inability to make crisp passes and playing as a unit like they are on their 10th natty lite.

I will say there have been plenty of times we've had head scratching losses at home on the front end of a home and home and then look like a different team on the road.
Have a feeling they put the kid in goal tonight
 
Providence can be a very good team but they are way too young and undisciplined still. Only one senior on the roster and the goaltending is a concern. Nobody on our side will be shocked if we see a great PC team tonight or an undisciplined mess.

Did i hear right they loaded up on that league the NCAA suddenly allowed in?
Seems they snatched up a lot of size and some talent
