Yes, I will take Kiersten Bell and lots of 3 pointers for $400 Alex....

Q-Who wins the game between Michigan and FGCU?

24-17 MICH end of first

Michigan not relying on just Hillmon so far. She only has 6 pts.

Michigan playing pretty well without their starting PG.

Morehouse has been fantastic for FGCU. She and Bell are a great duo.

Bell vs. Brown these past few minutes.

Brown has 19 in the third quarter. Sheeesh.

Michigan has size over FGCU throughout the lineup. Starting pg playing or not, this team shouldn't have any issues with FGCU, yet here we are. I don't think the B1G 10's issues at this Boogie end here. I haven't been impressed with them all year. I think the PAC 12 will, once again, show they're the money conference in WCBB this tourney.

Now ultimately, MU's size will wear FGCU down, just as Iowa did earlier today. But how long will that last in the tourney?

Hillmon has been held in check w/ 12, but L. Brown has 28. Bell has 25 for FGCU.

A lot of boneyarders were predicting an FGCU upset.

Michigan played pretty solid defense, especially limiting FGCU’s three ball.

FGCU doesn’t have a ton of pieces outside of Bell and Morehouse.

Not really. Naz just being a force in a different. Brown got the touch and they are just flowing the offense thru Liegha Brown.

She's rebounding, but 3-10 shooting is not good.

edit--she is hitting her FTs though

Not pretty on the 3-10 but we will take it. She is definitely money at the line though.

Bottom line is they won. I'd expect her to bounce back in their next game. Several teammates picked up some of the scoring load.

I'm surprised at this result.
I'm not. Granted Michigan hasn't been impressive the latter part of the season so I can understand why most thought this would go FGCU's way.

I attribute it to a couple things, one being Leigha Brown recovering from COVID. From those I know who have contracted this virus, it takes some time before you even feel close to normal. If it took her a couple months to get back to her typical form, I'm not surprised.

Second, would be their second COVID pause at the school. Unlike Rutgers or Oregon State where theirs were continuous, Michigan was like a roller coaster. Stopping and starting could affect any team trying to build momentum for competition.
