Yeah. This is spot on. I think if you ask most people, not only in the BY but also across the country, do you think this uconn team is a top 5 team (staff included because it means everything) we would say yes. Even if you still wanna hedge on that these committee members have 50 some odd schools to seriously consider when putting together top 25 and they have to be completely fair based on only the games people have played. If they put us in top 5 or 10 you'd have other schools who have a legit gripe.![]()
We are the highest ranked 3 loss team in the country. We've had some great wins, but we are definitely getting full respect, and I think our name put us a spot or 2 higher than most teams wouldve gotten in the same circumstance. Nothing to complain about here.
Let’s focus on winning our BE opener first. We have trouble doing that historicallyWe are getting Bama-level respect based on our brand. I won’t complain. Now we need to run through the Big East again. Stay healthy and get a top 4 seed in Providence/Newark.
I'm less concerned about how good/bad our losses look than about our wins.
One reason beating Gonzaga was so important is because they are the only bona fide Top 25 win on our schedule.
Now, Texas (SEC) and Baylor (Big XII) have the opportunity for some major marquee wins since those conferences were really strong out of the gates, the SEC in particular (5 of the top 7 in the poll, goodness). But if those teams faltered, and with the Big East down, it's possible we wouldn't have had a single Top 25 win all year.

At home versus Xavier who just lost Freemantle should be doable.Let’s focus on winning our BE opener first. We have trouble doing that historically
Yes, this is another important point.Yes I totally agree. We needed to beat a quality ranked team.
Honestly after Maui I was afraid we wouldn’t have a single good OOC win and have to win the BET just to avoid the NIT. Maybe that was me panicking but it was a possibility. Now I believe that danger is off the table.
Didn’t we learn that already?Dayton may be better than we thought.
we mailed it in. total lack of effort.Dayton was maddening, they just kept making plays! Fun team if you don’t have to play them.

I'm confident Baylor will eventually be a top 15-20 team IF they can get healthy.I'm less concerned about how good/bad our losses look than about our wins.

not probablyI don't know how you can say Texas has no talent if you watched that game. Tre Johnson probably has a higher NBA ceiling than anyone on our team.
What happened to Freemantle? He just came back from a big injury this year.At home versus Xavier who just lost Freemantle should be doable.

LOL. After all those years of bragging about being undefeated on islands …As a follow-up to this, Evan Miya has us as the #1 team when playing in the Continental US:

i think many here are simply forgetting that 2 games in Maui were incredibly close and could have gone our way.As the season progresses Maui will look more and more like a fluke. Our resume is not as good as our ranking, but IMO the ranking underestimates how good this team is, as strange as that sounds...
