Probably the worst officiating I’ve ever seen at a UConn hockey game. Period. These guys deserve a suspension.

Richard and Minnetian going at it from the penalty boxes can be heard at the 40 minute mark. Minnetian calling Richard an ‘01 and too old for college (Richard is an ‘03) along with other colorful language.

UConn needs to keep this a tight checking game. You don’t want to get into a track meet/ shootout against BC. Keep the game tight checking and just wait for BC to make a mistake.

Wow, BC’s defense block everything. This certainly has been a good battle. Overtime here we come. Let’s go Huskies!!!!

once again fail to perform in front of a big crowd

If this team fails to make the ncaas their record in Hartford will be the reason why so I better not hear the belly aching about Toscano.

Well it was a tough weekend for UConn. BC is really starting to dial in their game. UConn will just need to get back after it in practice and get ready for next weekend. They got this.

Blaming the arena is stupid, they got outplayed the building has no bearing on the outcome, congrats on your personal victory.

Sometimes you just get outplayed, sometimes you get out talented, and sometimes it’s a little of both. I think it was a little of both this weekend.

Funny. People blamed our poor first season at Toscano on the building being cursed.

It’s not blaming the building. It’s just a statement of the facts. They went 0-3-1 there and it could be very costly.

It’s really our home record overall that’s a problem. 6-6-2 at home. 10-2-2 0n the road. 1-0 on neutral ice. Make it make sense.

Win or lose, 3-on-3 pond hockey overtime sucks. As I’ve said ad nauseum, 5-on-5 or no OT (3 points to the winner, one each for a tie).

Thankfully, we don’t do 3-on-3 in basketball, 7-on-7 in football, or 2 outfielders/3 infielders in baseball.

the first period makes me want to ise my lawyers and sue the god damn league and mwke sure we get all phone correspondence between refs ans HE commisioner.
More important than Savannah Guthries mom

This game was a frustrating game between the refs screwing us every time they could get which one power play led to a goal. But you can't blame the refs all together we had plenty of chance to take the lead either they hit the post or passed it up instead of shooting the puck. Or even worse wiffed on it. Cav needs to find a way to spark this team. All of a sudden Muldoney is cold and Richard only had one goal this weekend. The only line that's buzzing is Blaise and shahan at times. But you can't rely on just one or two lines. And the only thing that was good tonight is our defense. Like last night we had crappy defense but we're still able to score two goals!

We had a tough match up for the OT too. It's a man on man situation and you need size and speed. And speed is more important than size. I think we have decent speed and now we have to start recruiting more size. Also,we're getting gassed in the third period. This is a conditioning problem? What gives with that?

Currently 14th in NPI

Would mean North Dakota in Sioux Falls, SD

Cannot have a team outside of the top 16 to win a conference tournament in Hockey East, ECAC, Big Ten, or NCHC

.-.
Well the good news UConn is at 14 in the npi after dropping to 15 after today's game. UConn better thank the teams behind us for beating some teams in front of us!

All conferences except the Atlantic hockey conference are ranked in the top 16 NPI. That means the AHA champ will replace the #16 NPI. As long as we stay at 15 and there are no teams below us that win their conference championship, we will be in the NCAA’s. PC and BC should also be in, but Maine, UMass and every other HEA team will have to win the conference championship to get it.

BC is very good, no shame in losing to them, even at home. Great crowd, probably 70-30 Husky versus Eagle fans. Toscano is too small , should have been built to hold 6k.

Standings after a rough weekend.

It was not 70-30 you BC fraud

The officiating in the first period was a complete disaster. Everytime they saw a penalty on BC they tried to throw us in the mix to get matchings. If wr cant get proper calls on our home ice in front of 10k fans or more than we never will as long as the opponent is BC.
Muldowney is ice cold. They probably wont switch up lines at this point but if he is quiet next week i wonder if that triggers some movement

There is nothing negative regarding Playing in Hartford. If anything the take away from this game is that there needs to be more games in Hartford. Outside of the bean pot or the hockey East championship where else are you seeing crowds like this in college hockey in New England.
I think going to 6 in Hartford is a perfect number

Yes it’s a fact and and it’s also stupid to blame losses on a building whether its at Toscano or in Hartford. Interesting that the visiting teams had no trouble winning.

I agree they should switch up the lines honestly they should put shahan and Muldoney together. And maybe move Richard with Blaise and detained. Cav needs to do something to spark this team!

In these series you need your best players to show up. Muldowney no showed. Can't happen next week.

I was on the too small bandwagon, and as someone who wants to see UC hockey be successful, we can't fill Toscano on a regular basis. Will it come in time? Who knows but the UConn way, it was designed with expansion in mind.
